VX is faiding away, the only reason i can see people buying one now if because the 'pros' use them. If your going pro, get a DVX or a high range DSLR, they both offer good video quality and good colour. My self, i have got a Canon 500D, its not the best but i can still get alot out of it and it looks good, better than old VX footage. I know they lack the manual controls the VX cameras have but that doesn't really matter too much. I think HD scare people like you..?

@aidman110 ive got it and its a good cam with a wide angle that looks like a bad fisheye. its a good cam for filming things, that arent normal like put it on your board... and it is a good cam for holidays.Like you can put it 60 meters in water.But for normal filming in this pricearea i i would say you should buy a jvz gzmg331he with a Raynox 3035 (you need a little ring for it, go to a camera shop and ask them) so, buy a go pro 2 and and onother cam if your have the mony and really good

@askater101 I rarely use the LCD when i film if its fisheye, i usually just figure out the depth of field of the lens then go for it. I rarely do a lot of rolling low angle long lens shots soo the screen isn't necessary. either way Im about to have a Canon 60D and it has a swivel screen.

But what would be a good editing software thats free (not wmm), and is sort of easy to work with.
