MJ always gives credit to those that have inspired him. MJ said he got the Moonwalk from seeing black kids in the street doing it. Also MJ may not know who actually created the Moonwalk (it's real name is the Backslide), and it's the likes of the Robot Dane and Poppin' Pete of The Electric Boogaloos who often take credit for teaching creating the Moonwalk and teaching MJ the move.

MJ is not just a mere Pop Star, he is a genius of a vocalist, dancer, songwriter, producer and arranger. He may not be as proficiant as musican with instruments like Prince, but he can play guitar, drums, purcussion, piano and keyboard. MJ knows how create amazing music in the studio. MJ is a musican and a Pop Star, and Prince is a musican and a Pop Star. And todays pop stars live deep in their shadow.

I agree with your view. That's the genius of Michael Jackson's dancing, amalgamating dance moves that already exist and turing them in to new forms of dance. MJ's dancing, is like 1 second he's doing a tap dance, move, then a James Brown slide, then a Bob Fosse move, then the Moonwalk or locking moves. No one can moves so seamlessly through different genres of dance and make it look like one style of dancing. But MJ also moves his body when dancing with more style than anyone.
