  • Thanks for the video. I think your argument is compelling. I've always had a hard time believing soy is a health food, it's just so processed. That said, I still ate it when I went vegan (never soy milk though). I'd be interested to know the results of any demographic studies on soy consumption (e.g. Japan).

  • Funny... Asians eat a lot of MSG and tofu, bean sprouts, etc... yet we're still very smart and don't have as many health complications has Westerners do. I think those fatty foods Americans eat are more unhealthy than soy.

  • I only eat raw soy beans - usually mixed in with brown rice.

  • There is no "GOOD" soy.

    They try to dress it up as a good "alternative" oil, milk, meat and on and on even a few shakes of a fermented soy sauce from a gm seed/bean is NOT good for you.

    Because they are money grubbing whores, they are attempting to outlaw good wholesome natural foods and seeds!! And replace it with artificial acid laced poisons that they can monetize and globalize.

  • This is news to me! I became vegetarian 4 months ago, and have been eating a lot of soy products. I've recently (at 33) started losing my hair at twice the usual rate. Although I just lost my job and have experienced a much higher stress level, I wonder if my diet may be part of the problem?

  • I moved to Portland from Reno and I noticed alot of people from Portland ate alot of soy over meat.A big difference from where I am from.I have seen a big difference in how many femenized men I seen who ate soy.

  • About 10 yrs ago I developed terrible stomach problems ranging from bloating, gas, pain, irritable bowel. I had a few colonoscopies & an endoscopy. Nothing showed up except the endo showed mild gastritis. At the time I was only eating soy & seafood but no poultry, red meat or pork. I ate all of the processed soy products like soy burgers, "crumbles", soy bacon & soy milk. I suffered w/ symptoms for 3 yrs & then gave up soy and went back to poultry and red meat. ALL SYMPTOMS DISAPPEARED.

  • I had horrible rashes for years and had no idea it was from soy. Terrible stuff. I think i get a similar effect from gluten and casein but not as severe. Have you checked out Sunwarrior protein? Vegetarians would benefit from knowing about it and turn away from soy

  • Ever since I learned this a year ago, I stopped drinking soy. I now only drink coconut milk, sunflower milk, or almond milk as an alternative. Sunflower milk is my favorite!! It can be found at Fresh & Easy stores.

  • I was drinking Odwallas Soy protein drinks because of allergies to whey protein shakes. I was drinking 2 or 3 a day... I started to gain weight around my abdomen... and my sex drive which was very healthy and not a problem began to decrease... I gave up the Odwalla drinks because I left my job and couldnt afford them at $4.00 a pop in NYC. My sex drive returned and I just felt more energetic and lost the extra weight around my gut.. which wasn't there before I started drinking these drinKS

  • almost 3 weeks now since I stopped soy, OMG what a difference. I now sweat majorly with exercise, B4 I was having trouble sweating. which is a sign your thyroid isnt working very well.

  • So what do you recommend people use to eat (because obviously they can make almost anything with soy). People that are vegetarians or vegans have to options because we do not eat or drink anything that comes from or has any animal product in it. Soy has been a wonderful replacement for the many foods that people otherwise could not have. And what exactly is natural or fermented forms of soy and where do you get it in this way so it is healthier. Does this include tofu as well?

  • even if you have come here to rebut these claims I invite you to give up soy for 2 weeks, after 10 years as a lacto-vegetarian and using alot of soy , I decided to indulge in Dr mercola's radical Idea's. well after 2 weeks I started getting excess testosterone production as my body started to reproduce natural levels again, I had heavy back acne, and my ratio to epi was 8:1 has now gone to 4:1, Soy really does screw with your hormones, take the 2week soy free challenge i dare U, THX DR MERCOLA

  • Should soymilk made with whole soybeans be avoided too then? I seem to digest it pretty well but I don't digest tofu well at all.

  • I started a new diet on new years eve, one that is quite prohibitive of misc stuff; one of these things is soy. No soy! Its made me start to scrutinize the nutrition information on everything before i buy it. I've noticed how hard it is, to find stuff that doesn't contain SOY or HFCS! Why the hell is soy somehow in a pack of freaking roasted nuts or a can of chilli! So annoying.

  • @Crashandbern I spent 2 hours in the grocery store today reading every label and putting everything with soy back (about 3 out of 4 items I used to buy), you can forget about mayonnaise, I even found some bragging about olive oil and grape seed oil on the front, but they both had soybean oil too! I also avoid MSG, HFCS, and aspartame.

  • I have been lacto vego for 10 years, I have hashimotos (male) (pre vegetarian) I now know why my TSH had been higher once I changed to being a vego, I had my thyroid meds quadrupled to get my TSH to .8,it was 14 normal dose+ soy. was fine on meat diet so for the last week I have been soy free I still have whey, and I have added rice and oat milk, wheat gluten I feel more energetic already, I avoided tempeh as well which i was upset, but I will re introduce it to my diet.

  • @seinfeld11123 You might still want to avoid all fermented soy as well as tempeh as it still has isoflavones that act as goitrogens to harm your thyroid.

  • As a vegan and autistic of the gluten diet I use soy, both drinking soymilk, yogurt and cooking the beans itself. You really do not make a distinction between organic/ecological and GMO/non-organic/non-ecological products. Furthermore, you are always showing the yellow beans but not the more healthy black soybeans. Please answer me or make a video!!

  • @Treumercliff There is virtually no difference. Organic soy is only marginal better and you are headed for a major health disaster unless you stop your soy. Better check your thyroid ASAP as nearly guaranteed it is already damaged.

  • @FLIPWORLDUPSIDEDOWN3 - I think they are doing this to make huge profits, but indeed the feminization of men is a side effect. I think that the huge number of men who feel they are "women" is related to many things, including to the hormones they put in animals to grow, the chemicals put in plants, the bisphenol A, the pftalates found in almost anything, from cosmetics to water bottles etc.

  • Have you heard of a fermented tofu called tofu ru (or furu) 豆腐乳? There are several different flavors. There's a red furu that is fermented and then soaked in a fermented red rice wine brine. There is a white colored variety, and a smelly variety known as chou doufu 臭豆腐 (popular in Taiwan). I'm currently living in Beijing, and I came across this tofu ru. I think it's delicious. Here, it's typically eaten with congee for breakfast. Is this a healthy form of tofu to consume, like natto and miso?

  • @Livinglocal365 I guess so since it is fermented.臭豆腐 is made using fermented vegetable matter so it's included.But to avoid soy altogether is ideal.

  • About 4-5 yrs. ago I started trying soy milk and tofu because that was "the thing" to do. While I enjoyed them, I couldn't help but think that just because it had become popular in the U.S. didn't necessarily mean it was a good thing. I breezed over an article in a magazine that talked about the consequences of too much soy. I quit eating and drinking it.

  • When i incorporated soy products into my diet i noticed i went from shaving everyday to every two or three days,i believe this is due to soys estrogenic properties.Now i avoid soy at all cost !!

  • I was at the supermarket yesterday and my friend wanted me to read the labels of baby formula. the amount of soy protein in it is scary. it is in EVERYTHING. there was not one that was free of soy.. We are raising sick kids. Thank you for this!

  • I have to say that it from personal experience that it does not take 2nd or 3rd generation genetically modified or not. I know, I have the bad health as result of it. I am not menopausal or post menopausal. I ended up with 4 very large tumors and severe brain inflammations.

  • I would check the levels of Isoflavones in Tempeh. They're still there.
