  • SKAha77 - no, wayne would either have been driven from the league for being defenseless or if he'd prevailed would have scored about 40 as the league wasn't weakened then, you uninformed freak.

  • "1970 and 1972 him and Bobby Orr"... wow, who wrote this stuff, a high school drop out?

  • Bumper sticker in Boston during Esposito's prime: "Jesus saves. Espo scores on the rebound."

  • mcwaddle you fucking idiot you misspelled retarded. always remember that your father was your mother's 1000th customer and that limsniff did you in the arse!

  • phil= guy from kiss

  • 92 goals for Gretzky in 1982. Not 79. Even my 5-year old knows that.

  • Mike bossy is better

  • @hskates121 more goals in a season 76 vs 68 i think

  • Phil Esposito was the ALTERNATE CAPTAIN, not the captain!!!!! Do you know anything!?

  • If the Blackhawks don't trade Esposito in 1968 to the Bruins he never would have the points or success in the years to follow. He was just an average to good player who was very fortunate to play with Bobby Orr and the high powered Bruin offense of the early 1970s. If he had been traded to Toronto or Detroit, he would have been a forgotten player. They didn't call him the "garbage man" for nothing.

  • @littlelouie11 I doubt that. he would've been good if he'd stayed in Chicago, we was good everywhere. But as he says in his book, Phil was traded because then-Hawks owner Jim Norris didn't like him.

  • His brother was great too.

  • forsure 3333, what are you smoking?

  • Gretzky got 79?^??? fucking incompetent bastard who knows nothing about ice-hockey! He scored 92 goals!!!

  • i can't believe they aired this without doing a fact check. that kind of mistake is absurd. The only thing this guy could've seen maybe is that Gretzky broke Espo's record with his 77th goal on Feb. 24th 1982, and then added two more in that game and finished that game with 79. I guess in this guy's mind the season was over since the record was broken. But there were like 20 games left. This guy is an embarassment.

  • yzerman is better

  • loose puck, ESPO GOAL!

  • yay Esposito!

  • i won't. 76 goals in 71 means a lot more than 92 when the league was SO weak.

  • Was not Gretzky playing in the weakest division back then? The Norris Divsion that had Detroit, Chicago and Toronto?

  • your retarted. you can't say that it because everyone else is so bad. stfu

  • @caesarcerf 8- 12 of those 92 goals where empty nets too, but you know its still the record it will take one hell of a season to beat that.Put it this way in that same season he had 153 points in the first 51 games consecutively .

  • @boskey10 When no one dares to check you down in ice hockey, of course you can score that many. What a pansy little Gretzky was. He's like a spoiled little kid of the NHL, getting everything he wants without the slightest cost.

  • @xTnT87 Well take away all his gaols he still has more assists then anyone has points. To put it in perspective its like Wilt Chamberlian having more rebounds in his career then MJ has points in his career think about that. He can pass better then anyone that has ever played the game on top of the goal scoring records and playoffs points also not to mention his 61 records. So that pansy is better then anyone whos ever played in any era, it would'nt matter.

  • @boskey10 LOL Gretzky better in any era? Big joke.

  • @caesarcerf Put Wayne in that year and he'd have scored 100
