  • when you think it can't get any better... my goodness!!!

  • Who can top the Church of Christ singing...This is beautiful brethren!

  • aint no singing like the church of christ singing after all that is christ church

  • @ omarifrench1... John 4:24 says "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." That "s" is a lower-case s. Therefore that is our emotion, our feelings. That word spirit, in that context, in the Greek means- your non material action to the word of God. If I'm singing and I know what God has brought me out if, I might clap my hands and express my joy to God, freely. Worship is all about the mindset.

  • @JAEMAN300 Amen, study to show thyself approved.

  • ran out of characters but i didnt get the chance to say God bless and I appreciate the comment. Again, there is not contradiction. God authorizes men (just males) to lift up hand hands in prayer posture. If you say rhytmic clapping is authorized then provide a scripture. Acts 17:25 says there is limitation on our hands. That means whatever is not otherwise authorized we shouldnt do it with our hands. I read prayer posture (1 tim 2:18 i believe) where is rhytmic hand clapping?

  • Acts 17:25 just shows us that there is a limitation to what we can do with our hands that will result in worship. I am well aware of the context with Paul on Mars Hill and the idea of.constructing idols. If you cant construct things with your hands to facilitate worship based on that scripture then how can banging your hands together rhythmically constitute worship to God? If the scripture authorizes prayer posture by lifting hands for males (1 Tim. 2:18) that has nothing to do with hand claping

  • Boy, that's a good ole Southern Gospel song.

  • One of my favorite songs!!

  • I really enjoy this song

  • I really enjoy listening to this song, The singer made me listen to it over and over, and over again, He just sung it with so much passion about it, singing like this makes me want to sing. I love it.

  • May we humbly seek His word, pray for others, care about others, be respectful and kind to others, and approach our own salvation with a sense of gratitude and awe. God is so merciful and so able.

  • Clapping or not, God bless those who keep falling in love with Him over and over again.... Thank you Lord for cleansing me over and over again.....

  • Paul Williams is so gifted and Paul I pray for your ministry always! I love you! TVJM - Memphis, TN.

  • Why is there rhythmic clapping?

  • whats wrong with that?

  • Where is rhythmic clapping prescribed in the New Testament worship?

  • the same place where they perscribe song leaders, song books, pulpits and pews

  • I am assuming that your reasoning that because your listed examples are not explicitly listed that therefore rhythmic clapping is justified?

If that is what you are saying that is wrong. 1) Acts 17:25 precludes the fruit of your hands as worship unto God. 2)the only melody prescribed is in your heart which is manifested through singing. Eph. 5:19.3)the items you listed are expedient, but hand clapping cannot be an expediency because there can be no expediency where there is no law. God bless

  • Ok, both scriptures you used against hand clapping are common church of christ scriptures taken out of context. Are you taking those two verses out of the whole chapterer without a background to what the context of the chapter is?

  • I disagree with the term coc scriptures. Perhaps you mean they are used often by members of the church?

I am aware of the context of both chapters.

There is a restriction on the product of what can be done with your hands for worship based on Acts 17 (obviously hand clapping is in that genus), and Eph. 5 gives the method of how to sing praises to God which ostensibly does not include clapping your hands.

Is there a place where clapping is prescribed? your "same place" answer isn't on point.

  • @omarifrench1.... I would have to disagree. The context of the scripture Acts 17:25 was talking about carving things and playing and instument-Thats what hands meant in the greek in that scripture. You can also tell based on the context. So that scripture does not justify why you can't clap. If it did, then the bible would have a contradiction because why would God ask us to lift Holy HAnds??? And as we know there are NO contradictions in the Word Of God.

    With Love

    Your bro. In Christ
