  • I'm American and had never heard of this show prior to Grant Morrison's homage in The Invisibles. But man, I need more. There's just something about 60s/70s BBC productions; the music, the style, everything. American TV of the time was arguably grittier and more socially aware, but they couldn't do weirdness or adventure like the UK.

  • The funny thing was, growing up as a kid in the '80's they never repeated shows like this at teatime. I would have loved to have watched shows like this instead of the rubbish like the munsters or the Addams family after school.

Department S looked really good. Apparently they wanted to do Dept S without the main characters and turned it into a Jason King vehicle, but Wyngarde to his credit vetoed this and insisted that they changed nothing- loved him as Klytus in Flash Gordon.

  • Hey! I didn't know Tony Iommi was an actor as well.... they must have been playing Black sabbath through the headphones

  • @spacemanGoldie It was the 60s. Ridiculous hair was part of the zeitgeist.

  • shame he got caught doing a george michael......

  • Now I know why an X-Men villain was named "Jason Wyngarde"....

  • Rosemary you turned me into jelly when I first saw you and watching vids brings it all back you still do turn me to jelly hope you are well .

  • really cool show many thanks

  • Isn't that the Sheriff of Nottingham?

  • Would have loved the camera to concentrate on the girl fight instead of leaving it halfway thru. Also would have preferred the bad girl to be victorious over Annabelle with Annabelle helpless underneath her displaying the tops of her pantyhose as she struggles in vain to unseat the badgirl.

  • Stale plot, but still very retro-groovy just to watch and listen to the exaggerated accents!

The starlet looks a bit like Tara King while the villianess reminds me of Ms. Peel!

I'm discoveringhe UK cult 60's shows are like a parallel universe to the US ones I remebered and loved.

  • cool cat that jason king.always use to get beat up alot.he done a swan dive in one episode.the man was no nancy boy.

  • We have the mean, leggy bitch Fiona Lewis (very hot) mixing it up with a very leggy Rosemary Nichols (maid to order)and then...........why not more of this instead they send the show off without that sexy finish???

  • Wyngarde's gotta be wearing a wig.

  • @TruthRaider

Nonsense! He happened to have a thick head of hair and it's a nice change to see men with hair after all the unattractive shaved heads and nearly shaved heads one sees nowadays!

  • I was named after this guy Jason King, Or rather, just the Jason part, but my parents got the idea from this show, which was huge at the time.

  • This is one of the best episodes.

  • I watched this show in Japan when I was a kid and I loved it! The show was called "Secret Command S." Love the theme music too. I have it on a CD. In Japan, translation for the voice dub was very playful and clever, and that translation alone entertained the viewers so much.

  • i have then on dvd.....its a great show."WHO PLAYS THE DUMMY" is the best episode along with "the man from x".

  • I keep posting comments and they never show up???? Weird. Well, I'll try again! THanks so much for htis video - please post more!!!!

  • You just have to be patient! I have all my clips set to "Moderated Comments", so I have to approve them before they appear. I'm sorry about the delay, but it's the only way to keep porn-site spam comments off my clips.

  • Thank you soooo much for posting this. More, more, please!!!!!!!! I'm a big Peter Wyngarde fan, and live in the States so I can't see them.
