this commercial would be better if Rossy felt something special and told about that to everybody, so you can playin mind how will feel down in your legs and driving it....because that's why all people buys this powerful bikes, for the way they make feel you its power....and try to do more easy to drive motos instead of so powerful, that would make people buy more, because that motos can scare to anyone who's not in the shape to drive them...

I just rode one that had a full Akropovich exhaust and powercommander 5. What an amazing bike! That motor truly is a breakthrough change, and gives the bike unique character. Love it love it love it!

If your not riding YAMAHA, you're riding 2, 3, and 4. This is the one to beat for 2009. I have an 07 and trust me, it's low and mid range power only dreams of being as strong as this. It's a dream machine!

Alright. Let me tell u what i find out. 2009 R1 is very good on track but not as much fun on the road like with 2006 R1. Let me explain: 09 front end doesn't want to lift very easy which is good on hard accelerating while u racing but to have more thrills u better off with 2006 R1.

So if u have 2006 R1 and 10000£ buy a 09and keep your 06. Ride safe boys and girls:)

whatever. It called a clutch. You can use it and bring the wheel up on a 100cc bike. Superbikes have no problem lifting the front wheel with or without a clutch.

I think Yamaha is missing something with this bike...Why not give it a side mounted exhaust that we can replace with a Racefit or similar ...add the pointed seat unit like Rossi's bike...and suddenly you have a bit of more of a Moto GP Replica...seems a no brainer to me....come on Yamaha...just DO IT !

Whoever put this video together did a fantastic job! I ride 848 and I love it. It's just so much fun and easy to ride and ride HARD.

That being said, I'm very seriously considering adding this bike to the stable.... It sounds INCREDIBLE with Akra's.... like a V8 race car......

Moto GP is 800cc right now, but the M1 really has very little in common with the R1.

MotoGP = Prototype racing

WSBK/SS = Racing actual prodcution bikes. Rossi just happens to be the Yahama spokesman.

it is only because the exhaust, with Akro pipes it looked not bad at all. I like my 08 alot better though. But id take the motor because of the crankshaft.

I hear a little BRM v16 in the exhaust note, IF they want us to drive four cylinder cars, the car companies should put this crank in their engines to a least give us the v8 sound, as the normal four cylinder sounds like ass.

This crossplane crankshaft, 4 cylinder engine would cure everything thats wrong with the four cylinder engine, mainly the sound, if they made a 4 cylinder engine for a car with this crank I would buy it instead of a v8, it sounds Almost the same, just a little tiney.

As you probably already know, a lot of factors go into how an engine sounds. For example, the flat four in a Subaru boxer sounds very different from the Honda inline 4's, but put equal length headers on a boxer and it sounds less rumbly. But yeah, the crank gives the R1 engine a very unique flavor.
