Awesome Video, I am going to Fort Leonard Wood, Mo for bootcamp on November 4th the Fort Eustis. My MOS is 15R AH-64 attack helicopter Repair! HOOAH!!!!
she is a staff sergeant now, what is the army coming too!!! She couldn't even call cadence when I was there. I heard they don't have drill sergeants anymore. Are Drill Sergeants Craig, Coleman, Copeland, Smith, and Bailey still there?
cor blimey!, at 0:59, you see a prototype AT, Attack Tractor, bloody hell massey furgeson have been buey, it'll blow any russian aircraft out of the sky!, awesome piece of kit AT15, Attack Tractor 15
Yeah, i mean i wanted to fly the AT15 but you have to get top marks on the ASVAB and you need to be AT LEAST a 2LT to even think about getting into that bad ass cocpit. What an honor it is to see her coming out of the hanger! The Attack Tractor 15 is truly an engineering feet!!!
I'm sorry mate I have to disagree with you there. they have got a lot of ground troops out of sticky situation in Iraq and Afghanistan. and are extremely effective in counter insurgency missions, after all it is a ground attack helicopter.
true but i've heard that some units in afghanistan, iraq dissmounted the mount because it was useless.i know it's way better than the ordinary apache but in counter insurgency all you need is FLIR.not the longbow radar.because it can't detect personel
yeah but that just means that the radar dome is just ineffective in locating the insurgents not the actual helicopters and anyway its normally the troops that locate the insurgents and call in the Apaches, then they tell the crew the positions of them. but yeah I understand where your coming from.
An attack helicopter, longbow or not, is one of the most effective COIN aircraft above all. Just because the Apache has increased anti armor characteristics due to the longbow upgrade does not make it a less effective COIN aircraft.
It's actually called an FCR.. fire control radar. The disco ball is the glass can just underneath and behind the main rotor head, and its purpose is infrared jamming.
you have a negative 4... owned. honestly being a 64 mechanic sucks, shit hooks and lawn darts are the way to go if you want to be an aviation mechanic, become a crew chief... 64 crew chiefs are stuck on the ground.
there are some "particular" things about the 64 that are classified, mainly its attack capabilities and its defensive capabilities... and and some structural information. to the other guy, no... you cant find the info on wiki.
i gather a couple of the guys below are pilots - what do you make of the analysis on here of that apache attack on what looks like farmers? i sthat guy all wrong, or what's the deal?
Na man, you can tune FM radio stations with the ADF. We didn't take any radios in the cockpit other then that. WE aren't the Air Force. They let there pilots take IPODS with them.
Hey dude...Hows it going..check out this Live2FlyLow guy..He's a real smartass. You might want to have a talk with him to..Give him a little bit of reality. I'm done with him.
I agree with you MTP, he is a piece of shit. Someone obviously is stepping outside their airframe thinking the know a thing or two about another. Probably a WO1 straight out of Flight School itching to prove himself. He'll get his chance as a Fridge Bitch.
Your comments are laughable and actually the reason I'm here. Your "snitch" posts on the "Apache Fly-by", noticed by my whole unit, prompted my appearance. I urge you to pick your fights a bit better and remind yourself your a high school to flight school "individual" condemning the actions of others while boasting about yourself in public. And you better believe that's not a good position to be in when eyes are on you - which they are.
Damn you are way too funny. You have no idea who you are talking to. The chicks comment was in response to your stupid comment. Speaking of public forum..boosting yourself up..hmmm. Thats why you say stuff like that in a public forum. All eyes are on me..wow..what are u supposed to be scaring me. Well since they are..give them all a big fuck you.
My "eyes on" comment was made to "LongbowPilot". It's obvious, looking at your reply, that "apachemtp" and "LongbowPilot" are the same person. Posting under an alter ego in support of yourself - pathetic. Besides, I thought you was "done with me". The offer stands to debate the issues. So far you still seem unable / ill equipped. I do know who I'm talking to. Your myspace account illustrated that. So debate the issues or exit stage right - this Internet thing isn't working out for you so well.
Seriously, your garbage is getting old. I may be a new guy with 4 years. I may have a lot more to learn, but I have one comment. Out of the many pilots I know from various units, and airframes, none have ever compated the 64s to 160th requirements. The 64 is a Aerial Gunnery Platform that does not "fit" into the 160ths role. So to judge an airframe's worthiness by wether or not the 160th has it sounds more and more like a kid or someone with less experiance then me.
If my garbage is old, prove me incorrect or stop replying. If an aerial gun platform doesn't fit within the TF why did they develop the 60 DAP? Lastly, if you wish to imply I have less experience at something -- at least spell the word "experience" correctly. Believe me, you are not currently portraying yourself and all of your previous boasting in a supportive light.
Nope...not even close to a Blackhawk. They scored too low on their WOBC or FSXXI OML to choose the C-12 or UH-60 airframes. Oh, and before you try to tell me otherwise...rest assured -- I know.
For your information there are alot of people who would rather do something different than haul trash and fly from point A to B. When you run from the fight we find it. Blackhawks are good aircraft,,but not appealing to everyone. Maybe if you ever deploy to combat you might realize how important Apaches are. Chicks dig Apaches more than any other helicopter anyway. Oh, and before you try to tell me otherwise...rest assured--I know.
If the 64 is truly a "Killing Machine" and not the "Hanger Queen," tell me why the 160th has ZERO in their inventory. What do they use as a weapons platform? DAP Blackhawks or AH-6's. I'll expect a reply to that question. Then we can talk about the mtc to flt hour ratio. IFR flying?
As for being the only one ever coming here...give me a break..I've been doing this for awhile..If you've been in the Army longer than a day you would realize almost everyone has been here. 12 sec transient huh...well you might fly a little faster but much more likely to get shot down...unless 60 gunner is an excellent shot. Its a good thing your side by side so you can keep giving each other the reach around you deserve. IFR huh? Fuck IFR.
Truly a classy reply worthy of your character. Remember, when someone loses all tact and wit they resort to foul words. Of course, I expected this coming from the guy who used the "chicks dig it" line.
Don't assume everyone besides yourself hasn't taken the big trip. Your not the only show in town despite your helicopter being a one trick Pony. I've heard too any times, "Slow down -- We're in our 12 sec transient." Finding the fight, Huh.
Don't mistake this as an attack on the airframe. It has it's place. It's more of a shot of reality to the attitude you and Mr. LongBowPilot seem to self fabricate.
Live2FlyLow...I would love to meet you in person and debate all of these issues. You seem like a real prick. Your smartass comment about the flight school scores shows your true colors. I'm guessing your not part of the 160th..because you might know a little more about their mission type. I myself said the blackhawk was a goood aircraft but your self righteous attitude let me to the other comments.
Well, let's debate these issues. The ball is in your court. Why doesn't the TF have any 64's? IFR? Flt hr to Mtc Hr? My comments about OML scores and airframes is a proven fact. The 64's are the last to go. The truth in a public forum hurts, Huh. Easy on the cussing....
AS far as OMLs, when I went through flight school, and a good deal of classes before and after me, guns and pee wees were the top picks. In my "limited" experiance with OR Rates my last deployment. Apaches never dropped a single mission to due to maintenance, but the Blackhawks cancelled twice as much as Chinooks. So you are stepping outside your lane again aren't you.
Years prior to you a documented trend was set of people doing anything they could to stay away from the 64. Refusing FS21 for BCS, etc. You're too green to remember the computer based test that was designed to rope more people into guns. Regarding the rest of your post, look outside of your tent. First compare flight hours, a/c numbers, mtc staff duty hours (flying & non-flying) then broaden your look to all units. Outside my lane? Remind yourself of your previous "new guy with 4 years" comment.
Liv2FlyLow and LongbowPilot, civilians watching. Hate to get all field grade on you two, but the people reading this trust that you are professionals. Please keep your silly arguments in private. I know that you both know better. That being said, I have an old friend and crew chief who is telling me to let you know, Longbow, thanks for showing the World that a lot more than the pilots keep that bird flying.
