Right on, Jackson. Couldn't agree more. But one point is that jacket you're wearing. If it's leather, there are huge environmental humane issues that come from harvesting that leather. If it's pleather, it's more animal friendly, but still requires lots of chemicals. Just helping a brother out!
Have stopped drinking bottled water since becoming aware of how mindlessly polluting this practice is. That happened mainly because of a link on JB's website. These days, i'm buying plastic-packaged stuff only when no alternative is offered. When confronted with a plastic-only packaging situation, ask yourself if you really need to buy the stuff anyway. Let us get to that critical mass that will ignite a global chain reaction against plastic by setting an example in our everyday lives.
@martymfla So funny is.. The "bottled" water comes from the same place we drink it... Out of faucets... They are just making money from the poor SAPS who buy it. But... Its a TRENDY Thing I guess..... I myself, drink tap water!
... "starving for an authentic life" JB says the most powerful things with a few concise words. Since the 70's I've always loved his mind and the way he expresses his ideas.
Soon as I saw the title I knew the direction this would take; that he'd be up on his soapbox making a statement. JB never lets fame go to his head... or go to waste.
One of my top 10 all-time songmakers... There've been a few times I've wished that, in song, he'd leave his soapbox behind. But it comes with the man. All to the good.
..love be true... how long, how strong. ...Anyway...
I love Jackson Browne, he makes wonderful music, and uses what little attention and fame he has to raise awareness for good causes- everything from human rights to helping people to protecting the environment
I keep one of these reusable bottles handy everywhere whether im at my computer desk or for when I pack my lunch thanks to JB. Im going to save money from this over time too!
I saw Jackson last week in Clearwater, the next evening I went to a supermart to getarticles for a get together at my home. I knew coffee would be the beverage for the evening and picked up a skeen of styrofoam cups, then put them back. I washed 20 coffee cups, that evening and not one will pollute our planet. Thanks Mr. Browne for the great performance and the reminder!!
We just saw Jackson in solo concert here in Savannah, Ga and he was talking about this exact subject. I plan on purchasing his water bottle from his website! Not only was he awesome in concert but I've followed his no nukes and other ideas from way back in the 70's! Go Jackson! Don't ever give up! WIsh the Main Point was still around! Best place I've had the pleasure of seeing him as well as Warren Zevon! Keep up the good work action Jackson!
Since I am a cancer survivor and the Environment was the cause if it, anything in plastic is not pure or safe, Don't heat anything up in plastic, do not Buy plastic, if given a choice. Always filter tap water-NEVER drink it from the tap. Floride and chlorine (in tap water)are carcinogens-ie, cause cancer. I could go on and on but will end here. except for-respect the environment, educate yourselves people and listen to my cousin, Al Gore-Mr. know it All-lol
A great message Jackson and agree with 100%. I've been doing this for three yrs now. I use my tap water after it goes through my Brita water filter because our water is filled with so many things that are bad for us, also. Glad to know that Brita is re-cycling their water filter catridges, too. Thanks Jackson for helping get the message out there and thanks for the post.
Once, I heard on a radio programme, while driving, that it's much better to drink tap water (if it is checked), than drinking from plastic bottles, because they are being carried in trucks and they take on pollution.

JB is so right about all of this - like the way he talks about his beliefs as usual.
