Paul got the boot because the fan-base for his style and his voice is a lot more narrow than someone like Scotty or Lauren or whoever else. I think Paul's great, but I was surprised he made it as far as he did. Be realistic people. But what I love about the guy other than his style and voice is his moves. The guy reminds me of Scott Weiland on stage...minus the heroin haha

Yawn. Look, American Idol is all about re-running the pop enterprise with mostly copycat talent, period. What's *original* about any of these contestants? Very little. The entire pop enterprise was ruined by idiot MBA business-type music producers in the 80's when MTV got going. That's *exactly* when it became more cool about how you looked and swaggered rather than how well you could sing. The whole show is a big yawn, including the judges.

American Idol is bullshit. First of all Stefano should have been out weeks ago. And then Scotty has this low crappy voice and he sings the same kind of stuff EVERY week. This show is falling apart whoever wins, it wont be good. Paul should have AT LEAST made it in the top 5 and now he's out. Sad.

Yawn. Look, American Idol is all about re-running the pop enterprise with mostly copycat talent, period. What's *original* about any of these contestants? Very little. The entire pop enterprise was ruined by idiot MBA business-type music producers in the 80's when MTV got going. That's *exactly* when it became more cool about how you looked and swaggered rather than how well you could sing. The whole show is a big yawn, including the judges.

hmmmm, you guys piss me off. paul has a unique style to his voice, its just the way he sings.. he has a quirky style like bob dylan, neil young, traveling wilburys... just cause he isnt the typical "pop idol" doesnt mean he sucks, & its about time we get some real musicians who have a soulfulness to them & that people who are different like him can relate.. hes not justin bieber - hes really special.

Note to everyone commenting that Paul has a weak voice: Number 1: a soft voice doesn't mean it is weak...listen to Ray Lamontage, Teitur, James Taylor, etc.... Number 2: just bc he isn't a ballad singer doesn't mean his voice is weak either....Number 3: Go on and try to get some positivity in your life :)

American Idol is bullshit. First of all Stefano should have been out weeks ago. And then Scotty has this low crappy voice and he sings the same kind of stuff EVERY week. This show is falling apart whoever wins, it wont be good. Paul should have AT LEAST made it in the top 5 and now he's out. Sad.

There are a lot of very good female vocalists like her; they're called back-up singers. Paul has an individual style, a unique voice, someone that would recognized as soon as a person hears them. That's what it takes in the business.
