  • i love it

  • actually they don catch wild dolphins all of them r born right there in the park

  • "A dolphin that isn't hungry is a dolphin that won't perform."
~Former dolphin trainer Russ Rector.

  • @metridium Russ Rector was a great trainer but now says these things because he helped start the industry in a terrible way, he watched so many wild dolphins kill themselves in captivity and yet he still helped capture them. He contributed with Lolita staying in her disgusting tank living off of anti-depressants, but in no way can you make these animals perform, they are smart enough to be able to kill themselves and know what they want to do.

  • @metridium :( this reflects badly on the methods of training. It suggests the trainers have to let them get hungry, or maybe make them hungry so they perform tricks. That's not cool. Actually they could improve the whole captivity, add sand at the bottom, add corals, algae, etc. Because Dolphins are very very intelligent and they need a rich environment.

  • @FiraInfinity The display of smaller Cetaceans in the Parks is repugnant, no justifications hold up to scrutiny. Making the display environment "richer" doesn't change the moral implications... also the water these mammals are displayed in will not support kelp, algae, coral, ect.

  • @metridium yes...you are right...I know what you mean. I didn't know the water these mammals are displayed in don't support kept, corals, etc. Wow...that sucks. Holding the dolphins in pools is stupid anyways. They should build an entire, like a huge area for them. Also it should be illegal to brand them, as some places do (it pisses me off, I swear)

  • @FiraInfinity The branding of wild Dolphins by SW Vets is disturbing... as far as building a huge area for the captives this only side steps the real issue... they should not be on display in the first place. It's time to allow attrition to take hold, the display of Dolphin, Orca, Pilot Whale, ect. needs to stop. No more breeding and no more captures.

  • people just don't want to hear how captivity effects cetaceans...

  • I pity those majestic animals, who can dive 500 m, to be confined to such a little space.

Please people, don't visit a marine park, housing such incredible animals. They must have a trauma, their entire lifes.

I would have one, if someone tore me away from my family, friends and everyone I love.

  • @IrishNicky08 ya too bad they're aren't ripped away from their families, they're no longer caught
