I think the best part of this song... is that El P used the rave scene to make this point. Mostly because it made for amazing imagery.

Yeah, but the difference is that El-P includes himself with "people" and doesn't let himself off the hook. He sits back and sees how "people" - including himself behave and makes an assessment about it. He doesn't pretend that he's somehow above everyone else. I think the same way. I am extremely critical in some ways and have contempt but also am willing to overlook things because I'm not perfect. He's not some hypocrite with a superiority complex. How did you completely miss the point?

@Indhegoh Though he may partake in these bullshit social gatherings- It is not him who makes the party a zombie fest of restructured greeting lines. & it is not him who struggles to create humor or spontaneity. It is not him who falls for the same old type of jackass in the upstairs bedroom. regardless of whether he partakes in the party, he is one of the only few with the insight and hindsight to expose what this party really is, and he is disgusted that this is all his world seems to offer.

As I've grown older, I've been noticing more and more about people. After you realize your genius, you begin to notice just how far behind everyone else is. Eventually you start to stop caring about them. Sooner or later it seems, life becomes a game to balance a comprehension of their idiocy with your hatred for them. The change in the beat almost seems to mimic this point...
