However, the one thing not being taken into account is youtube is a business and it takes a while for issues to be discussed/changed. So part of their frustration may be that you are jumping the gun, but the bigger thing is if only 3000/50000 are backing you up... maybe that means 47000 like the idea?
it just needs a bit of time and step ahead thinking approach, like not just following what is happening, but doing your thing and thinking what'll make your thing untouchable by this nuisense (I don't want to play wise, just may be it makes sense...and can work)
the Japanese culture acceptance here is applicable, by that I mean that's a same sort of thing,our complains and why? and this sort of things just won't change it. the same is - don't like it don't use it effect (like if you don't like the country why are you still here?) and that's probably way to refocus on what is really important..it highly annoying though to see all these crazy money making thing happening..but to see it only-is already half of the way,ther's always other way to get out
It's very true. And it effects many areas of every day life. There often are people who have power over you and don't want to face any kind of criticism, not even contructive one. If you are the first one standing up and you are alone you usually have to take disadvantages, sad but true. But keep in mind you have always the chance to get the ball rolling. And constructive criticism is absolutely necessary to develop. So be brave and don't stop criticizing (constructive!),

While I really would hate you to stop making such videos, I understand why you would stop and really I'd rather have you around on youtube then gone. Like you've said- you've been shot down and there's not enough of us to heal the wounds. You've put yourself on the line, but now you need to focus on keeping yourself alive on youtube. So don't worry just do what you need to do! Your true followers will still love you either way :)
Aloha braddah- I hear you! I run a small business and Google Adwords ripped me off fir $3500! Their "customer service" was non-existent. They project an image in the media (which they arguably control) of being so cool, but behind the scenes it's just another money hungry business. Sorry about your hassles with them, but sadly I'd suggest walking away from this fight...it's not worth it. Keep positive and in time the YouTube/google monolith will fall. They *always* do.
The problem with youtube is the company is now way to big. They own google as well and they don't care what people have to say. They know that even though you may dislike what there doing they can still control you because where are u going to go? People always say "somebody should do something about that" but when somebody tries to you just ignore it.....
Large companies only listen to an overwhelming opinion of it's customer base, but at least it allows others like Blip tv to slowly gain ground against youtube, once youtube begins to lose out to much to them, you will see a difference in their attitude. So always a good idea to support the competition if you feel your not being heard, talking about it is good, but it's a drop in the well really.
Sadly most big companies cease to care once the market is cornered, there capitalism fails.

Not to rain on your parade, but "stuff like that" is generally funny stuff, stuff with a wide audience, stuff that's politically appalling, stuff from people with thousand and yet thousand of subscribers, or stuff that's been video edited for hours. Also, "stuff like that" is often shorter than three minutes, because... Well, that is pretty much the attention span today. So one man driving around in an ill-lit car pointing out issues about YouTube layout doesn't appeal to the wide audience.

What I want to say with that is that maybe yeah, its time to move on, not worth the energy. First of all. Peoples who mail you that you should make a video about how youtube screwed up again this and that, why don't THEY do a video about it too. It seems like they don't want to get dirty.
Another thing is big companies tend to have their own mind with a thick skull. I've seen a big revolt on an mmo game years ago, Star Wars Galaxies, owned by SOE. Almost everyone hated the big changes and threatened to leave. SOE didn't cared. Now it has 1/100 of the subscribers. Servers were merged.
This needs to be picked up by a bigger youtube user like the top 100 subbed people and the only way to really get noticed is to make a viral video these days, something mindless and simple that makes people laugh and is only 30 seconds long.
I've only been uploading videos for around a month, and browsing for years , I don't know how bad it is and haven't really had any problems yet but I'll take your word for it.

You hit the nail on the head, to make a difference, you need to be one of the bigger fishes. So don't get disheartened, step back and do what you clearly enjoy, making video's for people who want to watch. Fatten up and become a bigger fish, then if you ever to anothrr rant video, you'll be in a better position.
Set up a "clone" account where you simply upload your content twice. If you tube do get you, it's an easy switch on to live.
You've got to do whats best to stay on air. It doesn't mean that you've compromised anything to the viewers who enjoy your videos. It means that you've taken a step back from publicly criticizing the very "giant" that enables you to be aired. No harm. You do whats best with our support.....

You are right about the word of mouth thing. AtheneWins channel used to let it be known when YT did something wrong, and they definitely let him know they didn't like it, but his videos often got millions of views and they kind of let him off easily.
I post a lot of videos on facebook, and in groups, but that doesn't always do too much, except for that "poe" who made that anti-Japan video. I've found that people who make a video which annoys youtube and then have thousands of youtubers mirror that same video (uploaded it to multiple channels) gets more results.

A website is a dictatorship, like it or not. Just look at Libya and what Gaddafi is doing to the people that are rebelling against him, silencing their opinions and suppressing their actions. It would take a serious amount of force to move youtube and have them change their policies, the entire jvlogging community would need to be involved. Also if you started something they would just stop you before it really took off anyway. Such is youtube/google.

My computer almost died when I tried to watch this video for the first time. A hard disk drive switched off. I think youtube did it :p

First of all. Peoples who mail you that you should make a video about how youtube screwed up again this and that, why don't THEY do a video about it too. It seems like they don't want to get dirty.
Another thing is big companies tend to have their own mind with a thick skull. I've seen a big revolt on an mmo game years ago, Star Wars Galaxies, owned by SOE. Almost everyone hated the big changes and threatened to leave. SOE didn't cared. Now it has 1/100 of the subscribers. Servers were merged.

This needs to be picked up by a bigger youtube user like the top 100 subbed people and the only way to really get noticed is to make a viral video these days, something mindless and simple that makes people laugh and is only 30 seconds long.
I've only been uploading videos for around a month, and browsing for years , I don't know how bad it is and haven't really had any problems yet but I'll take your word for it.

people would rather be sheep and just follow everyone else than speak up. its brainwashing and the corrupt youtubers don't help. i agree they do walk all over us. i dont make many videos but getting email from youtube telling me i've violated copyrights when the images are my own is annoying. personally i think you should make another account on some other site or your own webpage for your japan videos. i hope you have all the videos saved on cd or something.

Don't see this as a surrender, see it as a retreat.
You hit the nail on the head, to make a difference, you need to be one of the bigger fishes. So don't get disheartened, step back and do what you clearly enjoy, making video's for people who want to watch. Fatten up and become a bigger fish, then if you ever to anothrr rant video, you'll be in a better position.
Set up a "clone" account where you simply upload your content twice. If you tube do get you, it's an easy switch on to live.

You've got to do whats best to stay on air. It doesn't mean that you've compromised anything to the viewers who enjoy your videos. It means that you've taken a step back from publicly criticizing the very "giant" that enables you to be aired. No harm. You do whats best with our support.....

Most youtubers only think about how they can achieve profit and fame but you are a true, honest and just person. Sorry for not being able to help out more. Actually, i figured out something some time ago: i found videos about war slaughter and they didn't ask if i was adult or not AND there was no "flag this video as inappropriate" button. But they ask if i had an account when i try to see a video about a japanese who collects dolls because "it has sexual content" WTF!!!

I'm subscribed to both of your channels and I did not receive a message with the video. I'm assuming you sent it into to the 'Shared with you'. I watched the monkey one and forwarded it to a couple of people but I NEVER received it from you. It just came up on the homepage as one of the recent uploads.

Is it possible to put your video on a response to one of those main stream vids? alot of people would see it? just a crazy idea? since i don't have lots of friends to forward the message. I also think people are scared to challenge big mean companies like youtube in fear of being band. its a system of politics the more money you have the more power and the more power they have on us! but like you said if we combine our voice they cant stop us!!! just like the movie A bugs Life!!!

You are right about the word of mouth thing. AtheneWins channel used to let it be known when YT did something wrong, and they definitely let him know they didn't like it, but his videos often got millions of views and they kind of let him off easily.

I post a lot of videos on facebook, and in groups, but that doesn't always do too much, except for that "poe" who made that anti-Japan video. I've found that people who make a video which annoys youtube and then have thousands of youtubers mirror that same video (uploaded it to multiple channels) gets more results.

A website is a dictatorship, like it or not. Just look at Libya and what Gaddafi is doing to the people that are rebelling against him, silencing their opinions and suppressing their actions. It would take a serious amount of force to move youtube and have them change their policies, the entire jvlogging community would need to be involved. Also if you started something they would just stop you before it really took off anyway. Such is youtube/google.

honestly youtube is a business and you are using their service so they can do what ever they want, its like saying that youtube is wrong because they use censorship... the thing is its their space their bandwidth they can do what they want. its not a democracy its a company. also they give the bonuses to who ever brings in the highest profit margins, if you bashed youtube all day long and got a milion views for doing it they would send you a nice fat check, its about money
