i agree somewhat with you, mega corporations need to be put in there place. however most corporations are just trying to be profitable and survive despite the obstacles our government places in there way. obstacles place there by big corporate lobbying to stunt their competitors. Great Grandfather Rockefeller was an expert at doing this in the oil business.
James Madison defined republic in terms of "REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY" as opposed to direct democracy, and this usage is "still employed ..."

The "Father of the Constitution," he was the principal author of the document. In 1788, he wrote over a third of the Federalist Papers, still the most influential commentary on the Constitution.
@NOBS4321 Um, no he didn't. Be careful to make conclusions that do not exist. He defined our system of government as a Constitutional Republic... that is it... and in Federalist Paper #10, he was comparing our Republic to a Democracy, but not claiming our Republic was any form of Democracy... including a Representative Democracy... we are NOT! We are a Republic and a Republic only! We only vote for representatives, but that does not make us a democracy.

Democracy is a political form of government in which governing power is derived from the people, either by direct referendum (direct democracy) or by means of elected representatives of the people (representative democracy).
-
Montesquieu included both democracies, where all the people have a share in rule, and aristocracies or oligarchies, where –‘only some of the people rule’-, as republican forms of government.

@NOBS4321 A democracy is majority rule, or in other words, the doctrine that the numerical majority of an organized group can make decisions binding on the whole group. There is no other definition out there that is honest... the rest of the definitions are designed to fool people into thinking we're a democracy... they are propaganda and a tool of war.... fall for them at your own peril.
Ironic fact of history. Corporations being given the rights of citizens was after the Civil War, but the government still denied rights to African-Americans and other minorities for years to come!
How do you like that? Corporations got human rights, but not actual people!
The truth is even today, the rich still think if you're not rich (or straight, white, and a man in many cases), then you're not anything. The rich think of workers as just something to replace at the drop of a dime.
It is exactly what Jefferson said what would happen surrounding a private central bank.
"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation then by deflation, the banks and the corporations will grow up around them, will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."
@MrSuperpat First, that quote isn't a Thomas Jefferson quote, any attribution to him is either misinformed or a purposeful lie. Do not spread falsities here please. I've read everything ever written by Jefferson and not once did this ever come up.
So you support private banks? The private banks that run the Federal Reserve?
You say: "Equality in lobbying is essential for a properly operating representative Republic." That is not how life works. Even if it is illegal, lobbying can be done in secret and we will never know. You have no realistic solution. Wealth equates to power. People will eventually want more and more. And folks like us can't stop them.
I would happily ally with you against corporate lobbying. But we won't win.
@MrThecolorfulsung "So you support private banks?" yes... I support local banks in my area. "The private banks that run the Federal Reserve?" No... I don't support the Federal Reserve at all... as far as I am concerned, it is unconstitutional and illegal and must be stopped by any means. We will win... but it will be bloody if they refuse to give up power willingly.
Sir, I am not an american. We in India have seen America directly through its business corporations. American businessmen command a lot of respect worldwide and most certainly in USA too. US Corporates lobby with almost every Goverment. How is it that they are losing respect of true Americans? Are they working against US interests. Are individual and corporate interests in USA at odds? I am curious. In my heart of hearts however, I feel you are correct.
Take one look at our job decline last 20 years. Each month another 100,000 jobs must be created for people entering work force. This has not been happening. Most of us in the USA are busy wringing our hands and wonder how more than 20 million people can find a job . We are dying here!
@virn11 Welcome to my videos... I lived in Pune for almost a year back in 1980. I hear it has really changed... back then, it was pretty dirty and surrounded by sugar cane and corn fields. I welcome anyone to be my allie who would fight for individual Liberty and Freedom. This fight is world wide and we need people from all over to engage in the struggle.
@PatriotsRepublic. Sir, Pune has comes a long way since 1980. India underwent economic restructuring from 1991 and today Indian cities are raging chic with some ugly blemishes of course. I am all for the fight for Liberty and Freedom. Since I am from a hitherto poor nation, I add equality of opportunity to Liberty and Freedom.
@lamb110 if you don't have anything of any value to add to a debate or conversation, you will be blocked. This is your only warning. I don't care if you have completely opposite views... make them if you must, but no argument with only ad hominem is worthless and proves your worth... which is equal to your ad hominem.
The masses must know the truth! Therein is our freedom. But we are dumbed down daily by the tv. Many dont have computers.
What we need is a one page simple layout of whats going on, with links copied a million times and put on windshields and doors. This needs to be done and soon.
Hopefully, I won't be walking into the District of Criminals by myself. I would prefer to have my firearm, a purpose/goal and a few million like-minded, fellow patriots. Even if we had to rotate out to keep a presence there for a week or so, to make it crystal clear that we want legislation passed effective immediately.
Any idea how we were able to get the "Tea Party" movement to organize and deploy? We need that sort of focus.

I stopped contributing to lobby groups years ago. I simply reached the point where I refuse to lobby "bribe" congress to uphold my rights. For example, I will never give the nra another dime, instead I will use the money for more ammo. As far as I can tell we have already lost our republic. It will take a revolution to restore the republic, voting will not work anymore. Too many people now work for the gov't, are on welfare, work for gov't contractors, or are just plain worthless morons.
