  • If I know where do you live... I will stole your RAM and your monitor...

  • so lag for 4 gb ram :/

  • @LostBladeXxX It's not the RAM, it's FRAPS eating up resources like it's wont to do.

  • is this raw footage

  • @quoshon100 No. Raw FRAPS footage is very large in file size. After just a couple minutes or so @1080p, it would hit 4GB.

  • It's a shame CoD sucks.

  • I think it is decent. Not my fave series by far (only played this one and WaW), but I can see why it has a bit following.

  • @KageNoAku Too easy for me. Boring gameplay.

Plus everyone that plays it online is an asshole (with a few exceptions, of course).

  • @PxxlProductions Lol CoD sucks?

  • @TriggerHappyGamiing ppl just hate cod b/c of its popularity. Ppl in my school play cod4 and mw2 alot. Most of them dont even know tf2,half life 2, css, etc. It's like ppl are choosing cod as the number 1 fps shooter. But it does get old pretty quickly. i like halo 3, cus its the only game where i can t bag more effectively. :D Plus, halo isnt a hardcore game, and non hardcore games dont make me tense.

  • How do you make your videos look this good? YouTube ruins all of mine. It takes my attempts at HD, or anything for that matter, and just makes the video ugly, even when I use the x264 codec in VirtualDub.

The video VirtualDub creates looks perfectly fun, but then looks horrible once YouTube converts it.

  • Do you give it a while to finish converting? Initially converted videos always look like crap, youtube needs a while to process it (longer for HD videos, and takes longer, the longer the video is).

Wait until Youtube has the 'HD' symbol by the video title before you judge.

  • @KageNoAku

From past experience, even when they're in HD, they look poor, except they just happen to be in HD. HQ, HD, it still looks bad.

What are your exact steps and exact settings?

  • I tend to just leave them on defaults mostly (activate virtualdubhack, leave it set to 26 on the compression bar)

  • @KageNoAku

Is it "Single pass - rate-factor base (CRF)" or "Single pass - quantizer based (CQP)"?

Also, how do I activate VirtualDubHack?

  • I think I've tried both of them, and they both worked for me. One of them is probably better, for filesizes though.

Virtualdubhack is a checkable option on the right side of the configurations for x264.

  • And you said " if your so called tv is so great why does it max out at 720i ? " NOBODY EVEN FUCKING SAID THAT YOU FUCKING TROLL

  • My mistake then. I guess i figured if you were playing at crappy 720i, you had no choice in the matter.

Do you even know WTF a troll is? A troll is someone that goes around the net telling stories like they're the truth to get people to fall for it...

    Pretty much you.

Still doesn't change the fact that you're full of crap, since you say that somehow, your TV looks better @720i instead of 1080i, and you don't even make any mention of a 'p' option, in spite of having HDMI.

  • dude you are the biggest fucking loser ive ever talked to .... im sure in your little fucking " tech world " you could never imagine that 720 looks better than 1080 .. and im sure you would use your dying breath to argue that 1080 is better ... well on my tv 720 is better .. if you dont wanna except that then idk what the fuck to tell you hahah .... get the fuck over it dude

  • Nobody said it maxes out aty 720i ??? my tv maxes out at 1080p its a 42 inch sanyo dude ... all im saying is on my tv with my hdmi cables and settings it looks better on 720i than 1080p ... thats all im saying .. if you wanna play the know it all game you can do that all day ... fucking dickwad

  • There is no reason why it should look better on 720i (I still have never heard of anyone using that setting before), and FFS I never even said your TV maxes out at 720i...

You're full of crap I'm sure. You never said anything about 1080p before, the highest setting you mentioned was 1080i. Using HDMI you'd have no reason to have it set to 1080i/720i instead of 1080p unless it couldn't go to 1080p.

Hmmm, I'm a dickwad you say? Funny, I don't recall being the one to start the name calling.

  • Pahahahahah real crappy TV ? its a 600 dollar sanyo ... it has HDMI inputs and PC inputs for a pc to be plugged into it .. pretty sure its not a " crappy tv " dumbass

  • Lol, you're calling me a dumbass for stating what would be obvious to even relative amateurs to tech such as myself?

If your so called great TV was really any good, why the hell does it max at 720i huh? The lowest setting to qualify for HDTV status is the ability to playback at LEAST 720p.

Really, don't go around calling people dumbasses, it's rude, and makes you look like the moron when someone points out something you're ignorant of.

Also, Sanyo is a low end brand for HDTVs.

  • i play at 720i on my xbox and i find it too be better than 1080i

  • 720p you mean.

720p would be better than 1080i most of the time, and certainly in the case os smaller TVs (like sub 40").

  • Uhh no ? 720i ... my tv is 720p and my xbox is 720p but my tv supports 720i ... on my ps3 i play 720i and its better than 1080

  • .....I've never heard of 720i.....Must be real crappy TV TBH. It's probably just a HD-capable TV instead of HD-Ready.

  • u shud try avidemo look at my vids they're very smooth and i just used sony vegas but if i used x264 itd b crazr

  • ok thx i allready figured out tbh =) is my pc good? can i get good fps as you? can i gat good fps? with mu 3.2 single core 3gb ram and `ill buy a powercolor hd 4870 and a 500watt to 700 or like thar power supply` ?

  • I sent you a message because for some reason, youtube refused to post it here...

  • ok thx for the answer =) what means BTW ?

  • "By The Way"

Just in case TBH = "To Be Honest"

  • by the way

  • aaah i saw it now `Without Fraps it runs smoothly, most probably 30fps or more regularly. I can't remember TBH`

  • Yep, the game (I have the full game now BTW) plays just fine without FRAPS.

Fraps really cuts into the FPS.

  • and how mutch are you getting without fraps

    ?

  • ok thx

  • how mutch fps are you getting?

  • With Fraps? Around 14 to 24 or something, if I remember correctly.

Without Fraps it runs smoothly, most probably 30fps or more regularly. I can't remember TBH.

  • i use dvi to hdmi

  • If you use and HDMI cable to connect it with your 4870 you ll get smoother framerates

  • Uhhhh, I don't think so....Doesn't work that way...

I use DVI, which is pretty much the same as HDMI (Digital signal), absent the audio factor.

Besides, the 4870 is only HDMI compliant in the HDCP sense, there is no HDMI port on it, but it can handle DVI to HDMI conversions (though that didn't work so well for me when I tried it a while ago, I had to return it. Some sort of software issue at the time).

  • little bit laggy in some places but overall good vid xD

  • Thanks ^_^

Laggyness can't really be avoided much @ higher resolutions using FRAPS. Not unless you had an epic rig.

  • im pretty sure you can use the ingame recorder than playback with fraps running to get better fps?

  • Dunno, never tried the in-game recorder.

Someone else commented they didn't have much luck using it on single player.

    Besides, it was a demo.

  • uhm.. what did you record with ?

    fraps xfire?

  • ....FRAPS.

    As the description says.

I see you have a lot more CoD4 vids recorded than I have.

  • the pc videos aren't mine.. just uploaded them..

but i've been trying to record SP with avidemo.. and i'm having now success with mspd demo files.. maybe you know a program that recognizes them?

  • Never heard of em.

Google isn't helping either. Is it a codec, or a file type?

What do they save as (.avi, .mpg, .mp4, etc)?

  • when u record MP on pc it saves as uh.. dm_1

you can use cod4player to view the demos but when u do the same for SP it won't work it saves as png files when u use the engines record command.. (cl_avidemo) or w/e its hard to explain

  • Oh, so you're using a built in recorder eh?

Have you looked for solutions to the problem?

There ARE free Video Game capture utilities, some I hear are comparable to FRAPS. Search around.

  • do you have monitor G220HDA ? xD and pls fps

  • No, my monitor is a BenQ E2200 HD, I think the model is.

Not really sure what the FPS are, it was a while ago. But I think, when recording @ 1080p, it ranged from the low teens, to the mid/high 20's

When not recording, it would be consistently over 20fps, I'm quite sure.

  • Pretty good quality. I think WeGame and Xfire are better for game videos, though. YouTube is 2000kbps and 1280x720 max, whereas the others don't limit your resolution. You can have native 1920x1200 video on WeGame with a bitrate of like 4000-6000 kbps.

  • Interesting, thanks for the info.

Dunno if I'll be moving to another site just yet though XD

  • this may seem like noob qustion, but iv never had good moniter.

You have a higher field of view with bigger res. right, like you can see more around than you could at like 1280*1024

anyway, great quality dude. looks sweet.

  • Actually, I think monitor resolution mostly just increases video detail, not the field of view (though widescreen reveals more than standard like 1280*1024).

When playing in high resolution, there is more detail, because the digital retail space (amount of pixels it has to work with) to put said detail on, unless of course, you play on low quality.

A physically larger monitor would alow you to see detail easier though (but if monitor is big and resolution is low, it'll look a bit 'blah')

  • alright thanks dude. cuz iv heard some people talking about like "seeing" more stuff with bigger moniters and higher res. but it never really made any sense. i was wondering because im getting 1920*1080 moniter in a couple months. ( it was going to be today but I opted for a GTX 260 instead)

  • No prob dood ^_^

BTW: You MIGHT want to get the BenQ 21.5 inch (there is a larger one, 25" I think, available too) LCD HD monitor. From what I've seen, it is cheaper than other HD monitors, and though I hid a bit of a snag (Video Cards fault though, it's been fixed, not that it matters) where my monitor didn't display right over HDMI, it works and looks quite nice ^_^

Also, advertising my Crysis Video (also recorded @ 1920x1080) ^_^

BTW: Good card too, I've heard it is pretty decent.

  • Yea, I was looking into one of the BenQ moniters that were like 25".

But now that I have GTX260 im deciding between new motherboard and SLI, or new sexy moniter. LOL.

But hey thanx for the moniter help man. :)

  • No prob ^_^

What monitor are you currently using though? if it is somewhat crappy, you might want to go with that, IMO.

  • yea, im using off brand 1440*900... 19"

  • 'Off brand'? You mean just some generic, unknown company's monitor? yeah, you could probably do better. Resolution is alright for games though...

I MIGHT recommend you leave the MoBo and SLI for when the price drops or something (I imagine the GTX260 is still a bit up in price, since it is relatively new).

Well, go with whatever deal you happen to find, I guess.

  • sicckkkk quality

  • Lol, thanks ^_^ I spent some time trying to get the best quality youtube can handle ^_^
