I read the book and it was great!!! I still am partial to wicked though (I'm reading it 4 my 10th time in 3 months, yes I'm serious), because I'm a big Elphie fan, and Eliphie isn't in it... I hope that if Gregory Maguire writes a 4th one she will come back.
hmmmm... thats not an easy question to answer... I think it sort of depends on your maturity level and what your parents think, I guess... my dad let me read it when I was 12 (I'm 13 now) but it is definatley not for everyone. They curse A LOT and Fiyero actually, quite literally, "scadilacious" to put it in delicate terms. Here's what I'd do. I'd borrow the book from the library and have ur parents skim the section "The City of Emeralds" , cuz thats the worst part and have them decide
If you DO read it,let me know what you think because I love talking about Wicked!!!! Oh, and one more thing... if you've seen the play, don't expect the book to be similar because they are very different. Plot, content, and all. They had to seriously take a lot of stuff out for it to be ok for 8 year olds to see the play. A lot of people like the play and read the book because of that, and are dissapointed because the book is dark, and the ending isn't happy. But don't let that discourage you.
wow thanks i really want the book now! well i am a big wicked fan well im only 10 so the book was kida detailed so i put iy down but ill start it some time

would you say that wicked (the book) is appropriate for a 12 year old?
