Still haven't beaten this game. I saw the game advertised in an old 90's nintendo power magazine(when I still had a subscription!)...I thought..."meh...interesting..­." then I got it some months ago and it's quite interesting. Secret of Evermore...however...is my top favorite videogame of all time.

It doesn't matter how long he's played. You have to learn as much as you can with the time you have, regardless of how much time it is.

Caleb does a great job of tabbing all his stuff, just try learning it yourself. Learn all the parts, and if you keep practicing, you'll keep getting better.

Alright then, I'll give you some numbers.

I would think that if you played at LEAST 10 minutes a day, you'd be good enough to play most of caleb's songs in a few months.

If you were dedicated, and all you did was practice this song (just as an example), it'd probably take you... a month.

Caleb's songs aren't difficult, they're all pretty simple but very beautiful and ACCURATE to the original.

Anyway, it's not about strings. If the guitar sucks, strings won't matter.

...a month? Just for this one song? I think for most guitar players it would take maybe 20 minutes to get all the parts down. Spend like an hour on it even if you've never seen or heard of a guitar, and you oughta have it figured out. Lol. A month, that's ridiculous. Strings don't matter...? If you have crap strings, guitar doesn't matter either. It all has to match up, or one thing sorta bottlenecks it all. Sorry to flame a bit, but some things are just so horribly wrong I can't help it.

If you want to play with the same quality, just as clean and all parts memorized, I'd give it a month to a complete beginner.

Just for lead? I'd give it a few days to the complete beginner. It also depends on if the beginner's going to completely downpick it or learn proper technique.

Also, if you just ask for some Dean Martin strings, or just the strings used most often by guitar players that walk in will work fine.
