Hollywood isn't this vague in it's hatred of Christianity,, religion period but bigtime on Christianity. You're saying this is a reference to God and it's being shown as evil.. Hmm yes probably, but I have a hard time imagining anything Hollywood does with a referrence to God being done positively. But really this movies way of doing it can be looked at by Christians and not be offensive. Nowadays. Shows like walking dead etc just flat out trash God and belief, no vagueness about it.

I think the Good Fight Ministries got "The Truman Show" all wrong. It can very easily be seen as a (non-Gnostic) Christian message. Truman's world could represent the false, evil world created by Satan, and Truman struggle to get out of it. And the three messages:

1) The Sirius light: Sirius, the morning star, could be a clue that Truman's not in God's world, since this a light of Sirius.

2) The woman at the tree: she could an angel sent to deliver a message of truth...

I disagree, I always considered Christoff, as an antichrist character, who has created a world of false beauty. Truman is trapped within the false world and must escape it so that he could live in the truth. The loss of sylvia from the world is the loss of truth or testimony in the world and Truman after that point must struggle on his own to understand the truth and heads to the true world created by God. He must look into himself since all true words have been removed from this false world.

The Christoff character is not evil though, he took Truman in when he was to be abandoned and tried to create an Eden for him in order to show the world it's folly and sin in comparison. There are scenes where he is shown patting Truman's head on the tv screens, showing that he actually has affection for him. The movie is about the media, yes, but it is also about the inevitability of original sin. All that Christoff does to Truman is for protecting him from a dangerous world.
