  • @Startriumph - You are most welcome, my dear friend.

  • What a nice song by Talatjee

  • WHAT A WONDERFUL SINGER.YOU HARDLY GET A SINGER LIKE THAT IN A CENTURY.

  • My all time favorite song. Touching sentiments so beautifully carried with simple yet melodic music. I started discovering Salil Da's genius after he composed heavenly compositions for movie Madhumati, in which he captured so well the music-soul of the hill folks the movie portrayed. Salil Da used to experiment so well with very imaginative sounds, such as the tinkling soft bell in "Asoo samaz ke' kyu muze' aankh se' tumne' gira diya.." Thanks, Yuan.

  • @nandu1f - You are most welcome, my dear friend.

  • Thanks for making available this rare and beautiful treat of Talat Mahmood and Salil Chowdhury combine.

  • @rumahale - You are most welcome, my dear friend.

  • Yuan,

Thaanks. You have a knack of uploading reals gems. Keep the good work.

    Ganu 53

  • @ganu53 - You are most welcome, my dear friend and thank you for your kind words.

  • Hamne tho chaha bhool hi jaye who afsana kyon doharaye..

    What else can happen?

  • @kochuvaidy - I am sorry, I do not know Hindi/Urdu languages.

Can you please translate this in to English, in order to make a reply?

    Thank you.

  • Talat was one of the very unique but under-rated singer. His exceptional talent for ghazals and soft melodious songs was the hall-mark of this great maestro. Talat's gentle voice beautifully blended with the music flow & film background. His songs are a classic treat for the old timers even today. Thanks yuan for the lovely upload.

  • @1955shashi - You are most welcome, my dear friend.

  • I believe Sone Ki Chidya was his last movie. Lalarukh and Sone ki Chidya were both produced under the same banner "Film India Corporation". Lalarukh music was by Khaiyyam and lyrics by Kaifi Azami while Sone Ki Chidya music was by OP and lyrics by Sahir and Majrooh. Both were flops and released before my time. :-)

  • @RealMusicKing - I guess you are/were an editor of one of the film magazines.

    May be "Stardust"!

  • Hello Yuan and thank you. One of Salil's best. One of Shailendra's best. This was one of Talat's own favorites. Imagine having this song stuck on your mind for over 24hours. It happened to me once...on a very long flight. Somehow, this song wouldn't get out of my mind until I reached my destiny.

  • Much loved song. "Hamane' to' chaha bhulhi jaye' wo afsana kyo' doharaye' "... Simple yet touching lyrics. Again..."dil me' dilka dard chhupaye chalo' jahan kismat le' jaaye' "... If life could be that simple. Lovely composition by Salil Da. Thanks yuan.

  • @nandu1f - You are most welcome, my dear friend, after a looong time!

  • An amazing song. One of my great favorites. Noone but Talat could have sung this so beautifully. Thanks for sharing.

  • @ie8784 - You are most welcome, my friend.

  • BETI SUPERB SONG

    THANKS

    UNCLE

  • @mahesh1946 - You are most welcome, my dear Uncle Uma.

  • Hamne tho chaha bhoolhi jaye....

How can this happen? when one is lost to some one.

    Can I relive my past?

  • Hamne tho chaha bhool hi jaye...Is it possible. Where am I?

Can I go back in time.

  • Beautiful Talat Mehmood song - it's always a pleasure to see him on screen. Thanks Yuan,

    Shyam

  • @shyras1 - You are most welcome, my dear friend Shyam.

  • Yuan,

Excellent info. Thanks for that and the upload.

  • @shekarman - You are most welcome, my dear friend.

  • Apart from listening to this gem, I learnt some new things about Talat ji. Thank you for sharing.

  • @vnagar01 - You are most welcome, my friend.

  • One of the rare occasions (after KL Saigal), the playback singer is also the actor. Kishore K was also an exception (except a couple of times when Rafi sang for him). I wonder how many movies Talat acted in

  • @shekarman - According to "Wikipedia" and "IMDb", he acted in 13 films.

Starting with Rajlaxmi (1945) and the last one was Lala Rukh (1958).

Also, he has sung in 17 Indian languages, including Urdu/Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Telugu, Gujarati, Marathi, Malayalam, Punjabi, Sindhi, and Awadhi.

In 1979, Talat performed at the world renowned Royal Albert Hall. Talat was the second Indian playback singer after Lata Mangeshkar to be invited to perform at this historical venue!

  • I love TM's songs. Thanks for the posting. 43 years later we are still enjoying the songs.

  • @juneg1964 - You are most welcome, my dear friend Arjun.

Actually, it is 53 years old.

  • @juneg1964 It is not 43 but 53 years. These songs are immortal. True music lovers will enjoy them even after another 50 years.

  • @jalzala Thanks for the correction, I am not good at math obviously.

  • @juneg1964 I actually wanted to share my admiration of this great song with you.
