  • I have been wondering how to play M. Taylor's part of "Winter" for long time. Thank you very much. Yesterday I uploaded my first tune playing Taylor's part (Honky Tonk Women cover) on YouTube. Can you listen to my tune?

  • well done, sir. to me this is the stones finest moment from their vast catalog. and the MT's lead-licks are the finest moments from this song. i appreciate your ability to break down the components and convey them to us lay-people.

  • beano les paul? almost looks like a 59 that mike bloomfield had

  • The interesting thing about MT's phrasing is that it sounds good on Fenders and Gibsons. Some of his licks sound custom made for that neck pickup strat sound even though he recorded them using Gibsons (LP and 335s). I've gotten lots of mileage out his approach to the guitar.

  • Sure would've been awesome if Duane Allman could have recorded with MT... They both have that blues emotion within the confines of a major progression . Not easy.

  • Excellent and esoteric post. Thanks! (You know I will steal these licks from you, as there is no honor among thieves or guitar players, lol)

  • wow, u got this nailed down! trying to learn it right now! good job sir!

  • try some sheptone pick-ups. theyre great.

  • Nice, nice..thanks!

  • those strings look dangerous , haven't you heard of the health and safety act????

  • Thank you so very much

  • Excellent! One of my favourite songs. Been trying to figure this out for years. Very well done and a big thanks for taking the time to post.

  • Fantastic. Love to see and hear people appreciate what MTaylor brought to the guitar. Such a lovely song from the best player of his generation. Thank you for taking the time to help us work through it.

  • Loved this - a great song that's complex to play - thx for the lesson

  • Nice playing dude, MT's period in the Stones was my favourite. This and tracks like Time Waits For No-One from IORAR were beautiful yet simple. You have a great grasp of the track.

  • That was very casual and fantastic! No blue notes and heavy vibrato is exactly the recipe for Mick Taylor's magic on this one. Thanks for the breakdown to one of the prettiest songs from the 70's...

  • fantastic job on the video. do you have or know where to find tabs for this?

  • Yes very good effort, I think Taylor's mastery of the fretboard as well as compositional dynamics and emotion are well shown here. Great song and great video. Thanks
