The log you're most likely missing is not one that you pick. It's one that's triggered. Here's what you do.

Go to the astroid area and destroy the Gravity tethers, but DON'T plant the SOS beacon on the rock yet. After that, go to the room where you're suppose to launch the rock, trigger the computer, and Kendra will tell you that you can't launch it until you plant the beacon on it.

I figured that one out by mistake. It's kind of tedious, but there you go.

he couldn't take it anymore and recorded a log to his family explaining that if he dismembers himself the necromorphs wont be able to use him in their species. He tells his family he loves them, and then you hear him start the dismemberment process. Its pretty powerful stuff (and yes, screwed up).

Okay so I figured it out. There is a secret log in this level that is quite tedious to get. You actually have to destroy the 4 gravity tethers without planting the beacon. Then you have to go all the way back to the control room and try to launch the asteroid. When you try this Kendra should contact you to tell you that the beacon has not been placed yet and that is the secret log. If you are still missing one, this is probably it! Have fun dragging around that power cell 4 times...

go to the other side of the stone and destroy the gravity thing by stasis things and shoot the inside them. then on the space side place the beacon.

these walkthroughs rnt very good. i picked up all the logs in lvl 7 he talked about, and there was still one missing in the end of the lvl. im only on lvl 8, but im guessing he misses some things in other lvls as well. also for people who r having problems with the comets and the tethers, just jump as close to the opposite side ur standing on on the comet, and run to the opposite side of the comet so u dont get kicked by the revolving metal arms, and to place to beacon press A on the comet.

go back to the command room (overview of the comet) and release it. its the room which is opposite in the corridor in the mining lvl, where you have to move the generator with kenisis to make the elevator on the opposite side work. its where the guy in the video says thats a really messed up log, go up that elevator in that area after youve placed the beacon and destroyed the 4 tethers.

damn good job man, but actually you dont need to get all the logs to get the legend teller achievment cuz i got it and ive missed 2 or 3 through the game. unless there actually is a secret achievment for getting ALL the logs, im just gonna play this on impossible and try to beat it. btw, i dono if uve played impossible mode yet, but how is it harder? ive only played the first lvl of it so far, and the only thing thats harder is that the enemies take 1 extra shot for a limb to get cut. is it it?

ok dude fucking no. First off the "marker" was causing the dna of anyone in range to mutate. However you had to be in close contact for a long period of time. Second the ship is called the Ishimura. Not that hard to remember. The reason the ship got infected was because the dead bodies that were infected got transported up to the ship.

actually the marker infects them, which makes them go crazy, after they go crazy they kill people, thus causing the eventual necrotic flesh, which upon contact with the infectee get's infected as well, and voila, a necromorph is born. lol

not exactly. The marker kills any necromorph that gets near it, but the Marker also causes people to go insane. Anyway, due to the mining operations on the colony, the necromorph bacteria were awakened and started to grow in the vents of the colony(watch the comic series). Once the marker was brought to the ship, the bacteria infected the dead bodies there and some dead bodies, making a necromorph. Apparently, some of them got onto the ship as well. Anyway, that's what I think.

Okay, you almost had it with the planet, but after that you lost it. Dead Space takes place on Aegis 7 a planet waaaay out there. So when they find a religious artifact called a "Marker" they go "oh hey, this looks good!" and bring it in. Now after a few mass suicides and what not a new alien race buried under the marker starts taking up dead bodies to morph them into more of it's race. Now then, people panic and try to get to the USG Ishimura and bring these vicious suckers with them. And voila
