OMG this Corgi is just absolutely adorable. I love when they play these talking games with us. Its like they understand what we are saying to them and they answer back. It is so awesome. He looks great and so happy too!!! No other dog speaks to us this way other then a Corgi, they have great personalities that is for sure!!

Hahahahaha! Your dog makes such weird noises too! My corgi doesn't do the elephant one so much, but instead he makes monkey noises when he wants to play fetch or get a treat. He makes such weird groaning noises too somecorgi, and he interacts with us like he's talking (he grumbles when we give him commands, etc.) I have never heard any other dog that makes as many conversational noises as the corgi.

@krstnlhjt heheh! In our house, it's Ruby (Herbie's little sister corgi) who ALWAYS has to have his bone. Most of the time he just lets her have it and lies there like he's been wounded. I always find her with both of their bones.

When I first adopted her, I thought she was always fighting with the other dogs, but I soon learned that she just does it when she's playing. She growls with me too! LOL. If you're looking for a dog that size and doesn't shed, the corgi isn't for you. They shed pretty heavily twice a year and they are usually around the mid-20s in weight.

They're wonderful dogs to have around though

Corgis are very vocal dogs. I've heard others "talk", but I think the range of sounds is much greater in some corgis. Herbie is extremely chatty. Our other corgi--not so much. Ruby has a much deeper voice than Herbie does, though!

How are your corgis socially (with new people/kids/animals)? Do they vocalize much when left alone (would it become an issue in say, a shared living environment like an apartment) I am interested in getting one and wonder about any quirks I might need to be aware of. Oh, and great video!

They love new people, but they do try to herd kids--all it takes is a deep-voiced "I'M THE BOSS OF YOU!" from new kids in the house and they realize their place.

They are very high energy and NEED "work" to do. Walking is great--and they will play fetch or do tricks until they collapse from exhaustion. If you were to have one home alone, I would advise that you spend a lot of time exercising them on a daily basis when you are there! They are really great dogs. Easy to train, eager to please.

I have a corgi, and at first he pissed/barked for 30 minutes when he met new people, but at the same time he was also a puppy. However, as he has gotten older he is a GREAT house dog, hes never hurt anyone or anything, he even lets our hamster sleep on him. I would honestly recommend one, they are fantastic.

My corgi, Seamus, does a lot of floor whining (even when he's standing up). If he barks at the door and we tell him to be quiet, he'll just walk away and make a grumbling noise. And if I ask him to do a trick, he just lies down for five or ten minutes and growls at me as if he's insulted that I'm asking him to actually -do- something for a treat. When he does do the trick, he lectures me with barks and snarls while doing it to emphasize how ashamed I should be of myself.
