Oblivion is quite an old game now and for its time (7 years ago) it was quite good. Albeit, yes, it had its problems and you needed a -great- computer to run it smoothly. Either way, Skyrim is quite diffrent from oblivion, sure its the same genre but its so amazingly good compared to Oblivion :)
oblivion sucks so much. I bought that and that was horrible! I think that it would be like skyrim but fuck that shit. Do not buy oblivion. It is laggy shit and looks really horrible!
