  • My lighter doesn't take in the butane anymore im holding it straight and I try to refill it but no butane goes in anymore... is it broken?

  • @erichernandez2011 have you tried a different canister of butane? First thing to rule out is a bad canister nozzle.

  • U focking rock!!!

  • HELP! i did refill, but still didn't get lighter to work properly? do i have to check flint (like in zippo)?

ps: when i ignite a little bit, i can hear that there is gas inside, but on full press, don't get the flame.

  • @LegionOfThunderBand Are you using a flint based butane lighter?

  • @BuyLighters : actually, i am not quite sure. It's one of those colton lighters, similar to yours in video. I do get a spark, so it has to be some kind of flint, right? I do have a zippo as well, that's why I connected problem with flint. But it might be complitely different problem. What you can suggest to me? Thanx.

  • @LegionOfThunderBand Do you know what model of Colton it is?

  • @BuyLighters huh? i did that, but now it wont lihgt and i cant unfill it ? what did i do wrong? what can i do?

  • @bestguitarist258 I'm not quite sure what you referring to when you said, "I did that..."

  • @BuyLighters i mean like let all the gas out and refill it and let it stay, but now my lighter wont light :(

  • @bestguitarist258 So you purged the lighter to let all of the gas out, refilled it and now it won't light?

  • @BuyLighters exactly...

  • @bestguitarist258 You turned the flame adjustment all the way down before you refilled and turned it back up after you refilled?

  • @BuyLighters uhmmm, no i don't think so....

  • @bestguitarist258 Yeah, you'll want to purge the lighter then turn the flame adjustment knob all the way down before refilling. Otherwise, you can end up with air in the fuel tank which can prevent the lighter from lighting. Then, of course, make sure you turn the adjustment knob back up after you've refilled it and are ready to light. Also a good idea to let the lighter sit for a bit after refilling so that the butane warms to room temperature.

  • @BuyLighters yeah, but now the other problem is that it won't purge.... any advice?

  • @bestguitarist258 Wow, haven't ever run into that before. What happens when you purge? Can't hear anything coming out? Are you 100% sure there is fuel in the lighter?

  • @BuyLighters when i purge nothing comes out, and i'm 110% sure there is fuel in it, i can even see it...

  • Great info!! Thanks!!

  • i have DUCO super refined, is that good?

  • @ziksee I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with that model.

  • @BuyLighters kk

  • How do you know when the lighter is full? I know your not suppose to overfill but at what point can you tell to stop?

  • @ar91207 You will get a slight mist-back (not a full on spray back) of fuel.

  • Very descriptive and very helpful! Thanks, great vid!!

  • is it important to Put the Lighter Flame low?

  • @GABRIEL72652 Yes, for best results, set the flame adjustment knob all the way down.

  • Would butane work for zippo lighters, the ones that you flip back and light and it stays lighted?

  • @tacos5631 No, you'll need regular lighter fluid for those type of Zippos.

  • Thank you internet, I've been trying for hours

  • Great and informative VIDEO! I never knew about removing any air/gas first - will try that out as I've had no luck refilling many of these lighters.

  • how do you kno when its full

  • @xmanrugby You will get a slight mist-back (not a full on spray back) of fuel.

  • how come when i stop i still hear the gas coming out of my lighter?

  • @MrWiz514 Are you talking about when you stop pressing the ignitor button down or when you take the butane canister off of the refill valve?

  • Thanks man happy 420 : )

  • Is 'PREMIUM PURIFIED BUTANE LIGHTER GAS' the same good quality as 'TRIPLE REFINED'?

  • @gesshu213 Yes, that's correct.

  • @BuyLighters Thank you! :D

  • Very good instructional video. I did not know you needed to vent the lighter prior to adding new fuel. Works like a charm.

  • so there is liquid in there but no gas seems to be comming out any sugestions?

  • @Austinn801 I'm assuming you mean in the lighter and not the butane canister, correct?

  • Wonderful thank you!

  • thanks man!!!

  • no matter how many times I follow your instuctions it doesnt fill. SIGH...help.

  • @kankudizzle What happens? Do you get the butane to go into the refill valve or does it just spray back?

  • @BuyLighters whenever i try to refill my lighter it sprays back

  • @usuck214 sounds like you've either got a bad nozzle on the canister your using or a damaged refill valve. Have you tried a different canister of butane?

  • @BuyLighters

no, but ill give it another try and a closer look when i find my lighter again

  • @kankudizzle Some lighters are just simply broken, mine won't fill either

  • thanks man you really helped me it worked for me

  • If i do not have a tool to adjust the flame..what can I use? or can leave it where it is to refill it

  • @GINxGORILLA for best results, you'll want to turn the adjustment down while refilling. If you have a small, flathead screwdriver or even a paperclip, you should be able to adjust it.

  • where can i buy some fuel, im kinda new at this

  • @xF4T4LxDECLINEx Unfortunately, due to USPS restrictions, we no longer sell fuel. However, you can get Zippo, Colibri or Ronson butan fuel on ebay or Amazon. Just make sure, whatever you get, that it's triple refined butane.

  • my lighter has a green flame for some reason..

  • @MasiukA STOP USING IRISH GAS. LOL

  • @MasiukA Has it always been green? If so, some lighters have copper added at the burner to make them burn green.

  • can sum1 plz tell me what the song at the start is?

  • hey! I've got a lighter and when its empty i dont want another one bcs i m really satisfed with it. Anyway, It has a blue flame and when you keep it on for like 2 seconds the top becomes a sorta pink red collour. Can i just use normal gas? Or some sort of special gas? Thank you !

  • @MineCrafterCity By "normal gas" I'm assuming you mean butane. As long as your lighter has a refill valve and you're using a triple-refined butane fuel, you should be good to go.

  • My lighter doesn't have the fuel window so how do I know how much is going in?

  • @NetworkBlue You'll get a slight mist-back (not a full on spray-back) of butane when the lighter is full.

  • @BuyLighters oh okay thanks so much!

  • Thanks dude, really helpfull

    (I prefer bacon though)

  • Thank you so much for this video. Realy helpfull. :)

  • great vid

    thanks

  • can i use butane fuel used for portable stoves?

  • @alextuu Sorry, not my area of expertise.

  • i put it upside down and the gas just sprays out and the lighter and gas can is straight

  • @MrChowiii Sounds like something might be wrong with the nozzle on the butane canister or that you may not quite have the caniter nozzle all the way down on the refill valve. Have you tried a different can of butane?

  • nice

  • Hey i have the dual pistol torch. And when im using this Universal Gas ligher refill 5 refined it squirts out when i push it in. BUT it still seems to go in. But i think its wasteing quite a bit. Please help:). I think the lighter nozzle is cheap and to big.

  • @CasualHackerGuy Sorry, not familiar with that refill product. My guess would be the same though - that the nozzle doesn't fit the refill valve correctly.

  • Thanks for posting this video!

I just got a pen-like portable vaporizer (TopVapor from ebay), and it involves butane fuel.

I have been too eager to wait 15 minutes for the butane to raise temperature, which I forgot I had to do after refilling the torch part! The instructions that came with my vaporizer were too vague!

  • Can you use ANY butane fuel? Or does it has to be specific?

  • @DanteElite You can use any brand but we highly recommend only using triple-refined butane.

  • Comment removed

  • This helped a lot. Thanks man.

  • Thanks, your instructions worked a treat! I was making lots of mistakes until I saw this video.

  • My lighter doesn't light even though there's a rather large spark, I can only light it with another lighter, and it's not a jet just like a flame. Any ideas as to what I should do? Great channel love the vids

  • @xXethan18Xx Sounds like a burner issue. I'm guessing the (soft flame that should be a torch) flame is pretty small. Have you tried some compressed air across the burners? Sounds like there's something in the burner or the burner is clogged. What happens when you light it with another lighter and turn the flame adjustment all the way up?

  • @BuyLighters it sprays butane everywhere and it makes a real mess. lol ill try blowing some compressed air in it thanks for the advice

  • thanks

  • thank you. this is why i love youtube, you can learn anything!

  • can you refill a lighter with another lighter if so can you make a vid showing that it works and how to do thx dude.

  • @MrYougortube I don't believe that's possible.

  • Thank you, very helpful! Finally refilled the lighter I just got.

    7 People bought non-refillable lighters... >.>

  • Thanks ... that was very well done. Easy to understand and comprehensive

  • Very detailed instructions, thanks!

  • where can i buy the fuel?

  • @zinkx3 There are a lot of places online (like Amazon) where you can buy the fuel. Or, if you have a cigar or tobacco shop in your area, you can get fuel there too.

  • Great video

  • Thanks for the video. I figured out I was going counter-clockwise instead of clockwise and thats why I was shooting butane everywhere and catching my lighter on fire.

  • very useful, why isn't any of this on the refill can itself?!

  • Thanks I did not know this

  • I filled my lighter up n it wouldn't work I didn't do that step of removing excess air n fluid.but I tried turning the dial n raise the height of the flame now it works.next time I'll remember to remove excess fluid and air.

  • i have a cigarette case with a lighter , and when i try to refill it it just squirts everywhere . when i try to light it up i hear a misty noise like gas

  • @starrycrap Do you hear the hissing noise only when you push the ingnitor button down or all the time? You can also try a different canister of butane just to rule out a faulty nozzle on the butane can.

  • When I refilled my lighter, the flames will light for a split second and then go out. Did I do something wrong or is the lighter faulty?

  • @BrodieIsGod Sounds like you've got the flame setting up too high. The excess rush of butane coming out of the lighter burner can blow out the flame. Try adjusting the flame setting lower.

  • @BuyLighters It worked! Thank you for all your help!

  • "How to refill any lighter" easy just take it to the local gas station....

No seriously, all gas stations refill lighters.

  • @Zofnok lies

  • @xyzdorky66 Wha? ........ Well this is youtube so I guess its only natural to run into the usual idot. Did you even try to find out if what I said was true before you added in your stupid 2 cents.

  • @Zofnok nonetheless my brother took my lighter, and after i took his money to get it back he threw another fit

and chucked my lighter at me, missed and after i filled it up it no longer works. i tried this method on two lighters, and the one actually lights now the other is broke

  • hey im trying to do the 2nd one you did and it just squirts everywhere and wont go in.. i dont get it? it doesnt fill at all.

  • @XTen1000DaysX Have you tried a different canister of butane?

  • @BuyLighters no i haven't i will soon though and post back to you.

  • @XTen1000DaysX thats obviously what she said

  • @TommyNetwork ah good one.

  • Always wondered. Can pointed up or down. Thank you !!

  • how do you know when its full?

  • @erniebtight You'll get a slight mist-back (not a spray-back) of fuel once the reservoir is completely full.

  • THANKS FOR THE VIDEO!

  • Great video, I just ordered a vertigo lotus for my briar pipes and i've never had much success with refilling lighters!!! cant wait to do it right.

  • i cant refill that fucking lighter half an hour maaan

  • Thank you!

  • i have zippo butane but its the uncompressed kind how do you use that to refill a lighter?

    thanks

  • @ydal251 Wow, wish I could help you out there. You stumped me. Have you tried contacting Zippo to get refill instructions?

  • how do u tell when its full/

  • @rzyalik You'll get a mist-back (not a spray-back) of fuel once the reservoir is completely full.

  • @BuyLighters asome thanks

  • wow, i took more than 30 minutes to refill my lighter, and the gas not even get into the gas container?...

i frustated and get some youtube, i saw this and try it again, with the refiller upside down

it took no more than 30 seconds?

    thank you lad!...

  • wow, thank you.

  • Where can i get the fuel??

  • @ejm730 you can get Zippo brand butane fuel on ebay. If you've got a local cigar shop, you can probably get it there as well.

  • Excellent instructional video, thanks :)

  • I don't have the proper means to turn my flame intensity, is it alright if I just don't do it? Or will my lighter explode, leak, or any of that crazy stuff?

  • @GTFOVevo Well, basically setting the flame adjustment knob all the way down kind of sets the flame back to "zero" so that you don't end up with a huge torch flame when you're done filling the lighter. If your lighter doesn't have it, I would say just fill it according to all the other steps and just be aware that you might end up with a larger flame for a bit.

  • @BuyLighters I think I could manage with a big flame for a bit, honestly I only use it to smoke cannabis.

  • Is it really important to turn the flame height to the lowest possible setting before you fill it? And will it not work properly if you don't turn it to the lowest setting?

  • @DFT52 It's highly recommended that you turn the flame adjustment knob all the way to the lowest possible setting. Essetially, this 'resets' the flame intensity to 'nothing' so that you don't end up with a giant flame after refilling.

  • can i refill it wit just regular lighter fluid the ones u use for barbque

  • Thx for the video, turning the flame to the lowest level did the trick for me!

  • Alot of Lighters huh? You should Smoke weed , You have lots of Lighters haha

  • I have a nice little butane lighter i got on holidays, the flame was big when i first got it and it was what i wanted it to be like, then it ran out of fuel so i refilled it and the flame was very small, the flame adjustment is at the top

    please help

  • @DeepSpectrum I understand that the flame is too small but are you able to adjust the flame to make it even smaller? Also make sure you've got nothing clogging/blocking the burners.

  • Okay I have a Dale jr butane lighter and did everything you said but all it did was get fuel all over my table

  • @codyjvance Sounds like you might have a bad butane canister nozzle or a bad refill valve. Have you tried a different can of butane?

  • Thx Bro

  • @JustGameKid Have you tried using a different canister of butane?

  • @alkhan

Hey man thanks man you really helped alot I took my lighter apart and was able to fix the boubble in the chamber

  • tysm

  • Hey thanks, i was totally doing it wrong.....

  • how much are those cans.

  • @PsYc01025 You can get good butane for around $3 or $4 online. Unfortunately, USPS regulations make it so that we are not able to sell/ship these.

  • my lighter turns on for like amilisecond and goes out!! why does it happen?

  • @CelebTalkWithDavid Make sure the flame adjustment knob is not set too high. If there is too much butane rushing out of it, it can essentially "blow out" the flame of your lighter.

  • @CelebTalkWithDavid Sometimes if u do not let all the gas out of the lighter (as Dave properly showed) and u refill it it can happen that an air bubble forms into the lighter. At that time the lighter may show some tiny flame for some millisecond and then just stop working; it can be impossibile to adjust it unless u send it back to the building industry.

  • Very good video! Thanks! I'll be checking your store out now.

  • What? where do you get that nozzle from? The butane can thing doesn't fit to the refill bit of my lighter

  • @sgfig That nozzle is just part of the zippo butane canister. What kind of fuel are you using?

  • @BuyLighters Oh a 220g butane can from gasmate. I think they had quantity over quality in mind. Shit I think I'm gonna have to get another one le sigh.... or make my own nozzle, but that could end in death.

  • ok so i used this liquid lighter fluid and now it wont even spark, did i FUBAR this or can i fix it? please reply

  • @FromTheChaosOfLife Yikes. How did you get the lighter fluid in the refill valve? Just to clarify, did you use lighter fluid like what you would put in a Zippo or did you use butane fuel?

  • 1:29-1:33 That's what she said

  • This really helped thanks man

  • is that first step with the pen necessary?

  • @OllieVanHalen Absolutely. Otherwise your lighter may not stay lit if you don't purge the air out before filling it.

  • @BuyLighters ah ok thanks.

  • @BuyLighters no nothing at all...... exept a good spark..... But no fuel at all

  • @poopycat6 Hmm. I just read on another video comments thread that someone had a similar, but not exactly the same, issue and fixed it by removing the bottom of the lighter and adjusting the governor on the flame adjustment knob. I'm assuming you've checked to make sure the burner isn't clogged, right?

  • @BuyLighters no i dont...... Nothing at all..... Only a spark

  • Thanks very helpful

  • Thanks!!!

  • @BuyLighters my lighter does not spit fuel.......please tell me whats wrong.

  • My lighter is full but the jets dont spit any fuel....... And they did the day before?

  • @poopycat6 Do you hear any hiss when you push the ignitor button?

  • @BuyLighters yeah its suppose to be a really light sound if its really loud its time for a new lighter

  • hey, your video is really detailed, thanks for sharing with us! so stupid of me that,I was doing completely the wrong way. it could be so dangerous.

By the way, I have the similiar lighter like yours. they are wind proof. cool!
