Nothing wrong with this lovely girl doing her cultural dance, she is clothed and enjoying her heritage. Shame on the adult who looks at her as a sexual object. Such an amazing dancer!! And so young!! O_O This isn't "child exploitation", it's a girl actively taking part in her culture; there's NOTHING sexual about it. She's fully dressed, and there are women in the audience as well as men. People just have a hard time understanding that like ballet or tap dancing or even gymnastics, belly dancers start out when they're very young. This young dancer was graceful and focused the entire time, truly an impressive performance ^_^

My mother was a bellydancer and when I was little I spent so much time in dance studios with her that I was able to imitate the dancing quite well. Once I even jumped up on stage with her. It was always about the music and dancing, nothing wrong with that. Why do some people think it's ok for kids to enter BEAUTY pageants but not enjoy the music, dance and culture of the Middle East? Get a grip, Sofian474, and try to understand a perspective other than your own.

This little girl has been training with her mother for quite a while. She's not shy and she is learning drum rhythm very well. Perhaps her dad or uncle is a good drummer. But she is NOT a genius. Besides this IS what children do for fun in most middleeastern countries. They don't have much else. My little cousin of 7 y/o said to me; I want to play with you so bad, but I don't have any toys... Because a lot of kids don't have toys, they sing and dance together instead. They play with the music.

Yea ok great little dancer...but i think its so wrong..it really annoys me when i see this kind of thing..think of the amount of time this child needs to learn the routines...children should enjoy their childhood while they can....

This IS what children do in the Middle East. Many children have a natural knack for dancing AND enjoy it! It's not forced upon them in any way whatsoever. I'm Turkish and I certainly know what I'm talking about. I instinctively danced as a toddler, as a child, as an adult...This isn't child exploitation, but there are others who view it as an opportunity to stir things up...

I'm learning and studying belly dance (yet don't know what style between Egyptian, and Turkish maybe both!) and have read some history, so yes this is normal for little girls to learn how to dance and not forced I read that, so it will be easier for childbirth etc. the other who view it to stir things up need to read more instead of criticizing something their not educated on!!! There will always be nasty pervs out there but some people have shoe fetishes (not that that is even near comparable to coveting a child but it's certainly not normal.) Does that mean we should not wear shoes?

I guess my problem is in now-a-days crappy world kids have to be protected from nasty creeps, personally I wouldn't feel comfortable with my daughter shaking her little body in ways that could be seen sexually.
