take bunch of empty bottles, put em on a thing let em melt and sell em. woosh! hard work, and i read ur glass comment down bellow. not too many types of glass. so, not too many types that are used in bottles at leastn
It requires caution to do this, as not all glass is compatible. If it's stressed by incompatibility, it will break unexpectedly. There are lots of books and websites (e.g. search for warm glass) that have information on how to test for this. It is very neat when it works though :-)
I've added the URL to the warmglass site as an annotation to the video now. Definitely that site has been a great resource for me as I've learned about glass.
I can see in your video how you have put bottles into a large pot of water; yet you leave no instruction as to how long or what you do after. I am interested in making some flattened bottles I have collected. Would you please comment. Thank you.
Excellent job! The details are amazing!

HI,
I seem to be unable to post the URL, but if you use the keyword "warmglass" you'll find lots of info about how to do this

in a kiln, i would like to know what kind of kiln you have?

Glass kilns are basically like pottery kilns except they have a digital controller. Skutt, Aim and Paragon are brands I know of. Mine is an Aim.
