  • men acting like fuck-wits for fun cause we can

  • pathetic soundtrack it need to be stupid americans....

  • There is no honor in combat. In real life you did (and still do in any life or death situation) everything and anything to survive. Chivalry is well and good in theory, but on a battlefield when you are unarmed you'll tackle your enemy rather than take a sword through your throat. I admit that some of their attacks were a bit too much like modern wrestling (mainly the elbow drop), but tackling and overall grappling is needed in most close quarters fights. If I knew where this was I would join.

  • 2:05 suck on this!!!!!!1

  • Silly or not, i just love this, reminds me of old good times ha ha!

  • i don't think this is supposed to be historical its more like fighting in plate armor not much else there are reenactment groups in the USA where they fight in correct form this looks like entertainment.

  • it looks quite gay already, but they could do better i think

  • well, at least they are enthusiastic.

  • THIS LOOKS SO FUCKING FUN WHERE DO YALL DO THIS? I NEED TO BE THERE!!!

  • this is...FUCKING AWSOME

  • Stfu you Bratish punk. It's typical for you to hate Americans. You can't stand what we stand EVERYDAY. You can't follow the lines, so stay out of it. I've heard nothing but shiza from your mouth. Learn to get along you hobknocking wanker.

  • give him the chair!

  • wheres the honor in combat here?!

  • awsome man xD

  • Aluminium Foil Armor FTW!

  • gayest music ever wtf

  • Pro wrestling with plate armor and swords? Sounds rad.

  • @Thewwekiller

what did you think most medieval armoured combat was? if armour stops arrows, blows and cuts then take that heavy sonofabitch down and stick your knife in a gap between the plates

  • @Thewwekiller if your brigging back "rad" than i shall couter with that thats pretty 'wizard"

  • @Yaminoyori That is completely unfair. MMA fighters are highly skilled in the strategy and tactics of 1 on 1 fighting. These jokers most certainly are not.

This is more like what happens when "Renaissance fair" meets professional wrestling.

What a complete waste of a great opportunity.

  • @dipstickewew Come to think of that - there is some wisdom in yer words... I may be european, yet such thing is unacceptable when it comes to a serious, public fight.

Here we try to reenact history as it was, be it crippled or not. And following one person commentary... "Tin Can Armor ftw"

  • Knight:why are we doing this?

Gothic knight: uh.....I think thearmour absorbs the pain and we dont feel any pain

  • The music is soooo gay

  • this is epically lame and cool at the same time

  • People may say this looks crap but until you've actually tried it don't say otherwise...it's a great group

  • Judging by that America was colonised since XVI century - they have none to little to know about medieval times. And this video is an adequate proof in my account.

This is what happens when "rennessaince fair" meets "MMA"...

    = Bullcraaap

  • @Yaminoyori So you were born in medieval times? You must have been since you know that nobody ever wrestled while wearing their armor back then. Typical European snob.

  • @stud6007 Dear sir, I just would like to point out that your argument is flawed, from many, many sides... Firstly - I was not born in the medieval times, neither was you, thus such commentary makes me smile. Secondly - they didn't wrestle not because armor was too heavy, a full plate, well made armor weights circa 20-25 kg depending on how tall is the wearer.

Point is - they were limited by the chivalry codex, they had to fight gallantly, not like the peasants from the fields...

  • @Yaminoyori And you know that not one person wrestled wearing armor back then? No. So idk why you bothered typing that irrelevant paragraph to me.

  • @stud6007 So I guess it's hating time... So go fuck yourself ignorant americunt kthxbai x3

  • @Yaminoyori Is the what you revert to when you lost an argument? Lol.

  • @stud6007 No dear sire... It's an allergic reaction to emigrants and idiocy

  • @Yaminoyori Riiiiiiiiiiight... Once again you proved what I originally said, you're a typicall European prick that thinks he's smarter then everyone.

  • @Yaminoyori I won't defend what this video presents as armored combat, but from your comments you obviously haven't done your research. For a translation of a 15th century combat manual see Sigmund Ringeck's Knightly Arts of Combat, also wiktenauer com/wiki/Pseudo-Gladiatoria

I have fought in armor, and read Geoffroy de Charny's book on chivalry, neither stopped me from wrestling. And somehow being form the U.S. didn't stop me from knowing more about medieval European armored combat.

  • @Yaminoyori Ah, here we go. Beats me what the top part was about, but I'm not sure if you realize what 'chivalry' actually entailed. The stuff about "fight[ing] gallantly"? That was romanticizing of knights even when it was written during the Middle Ages. You're alluding to some sort of "chivalry codex," but to my knowledge, no such thing exists. Sauce if you've got it, though.

True, they didn't fight like "peasants," but mostly because peasants didn't have armor to fight in.

  • @Yaminoyori who colonised america?

  • @Yaminoyori ...wait, what? I'm not entirely sure, but are you saying that Americans can't know anything about armored combat because...it wasn't still in regular practice by the time America was colonized?

From my understanding of things, this is probably as close as we'll get to the real thing, sans actual armor, weapons, and killing intent. When your opponent is effectively immune to slashing wounds, a broadsword isn't much use except as an improvised hammer before grappling.

  • @Yaminoyori it is useful to know how to react when you are disarmed. Wrestling is what happens when you lose your weapon, and to not practice it means that you simply admit defeat when disarmed. The fightbooks teach wrestling as an important part of sword fighting for this reason. This is not just Americans making shit up, though they are playing around for the benefit of a demo audience, and would probably be more serious if they were practicing rather than performing.

  • @Yaminoyori Who are "they" ? Oh wait , I get it , as soon as their feet hit the ground they ceased to have an ancient european history and became insta-americans looking for big macs.Other than that extremely shallow ill-informed opinion, I do happen to agree with you about the improper representation of medieval warfare throwing all to the wind for sensationalism. As such I look for the telltale signs of "fail" by spelling it as "armor" I just know it's going to be americanized.

  • @Yaminoyori you mean "= awesome" lmao

  • @Yaminoyori No one remembers that shit in Europe or the united states. They abandoned those fighting styles a very long time ago as technology improved.

  • @Yaminoyori Oh shut the fuck up. If you wanna be like that...Technically no one knows how exactly things were back then!....Sure you Euro's have freggin "Books" on the medieval history....But no one in this day and age knows exactly how thing's were back then....simply because you were not there at the time.

  • @Yaminoyori

Funny, I'm American, I have a degree in medieval studies and I teach longsword in the style of Johannes Liechtenauer... While I agree this video depicts amateurish BS, you'll find that kind of BS in EVERY country.

  • @Yaminoyori You are making a big mistake if you think there aren't people in america that diligently study & practice the martial arts of medieval times.

This video proves nothing about anyone other than those that are in it.

  • @Yaminoyori

That's why I only watch people from europe fight with armor and swords

  • @Yaminoyori the fact that America was colonized long after medieval times has no bearing whatsoever on American's ability to know about the medieval ages. Knowledge is not hereditary.

  • @Yaminoyori have u ever worn tht armor ways a couple hundred pounds

  • @jamahama12 I solely sworn myself I won't reply on this video ANY more... But when I see a comment like this, it gives me a feeling for a warm and fuzzy tantrum...

I am an expert fighter for about 8 years, in charge of a fencing and proffesional reenactment group of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher. In past full plate armor (with every piece) had a weight approximately 20kg (44 lbs) - today armors are a bit heavier, due to people being taller (around 23-27 kg)...

    I repeat...

    BULLCRAAAP

  • @Yaminoyori You do realize of course, that there is hundreds of thousands of immigrants from other countries that often moved to America back in the 1900's right?

I personally, am half Germanic, half Irish, and I live here in America.

Personally I think this is pretty stupid though as well

  • @Yaminoyori

Your kind of logic has been obsolete since information about history has been available to more than one country. I don't understand what you are even trying to say, please clarify.

  • @hackerhell900 it may be available for everyone - but to understand it, one needs more than ability to mimic moves...

There's this magical thing called "logical thinking"

    ergo...

Think before you say something stupid :3

  • @Yaminoyori

Excuse me? I never said anything stupid, and simply asked you to clarify on your previous comment. Instead I received a response riddled with sarcasm. I'm saying that just because European-colonized America didn't exist in medieval times, doesn't mean that people from U.K will on average have any more of an education on the topic of Medieval Pugilism than Americans, in a day and age where a complete information on history is available to the developed world.

  • @Yaminoyori so what? This entire video was done in good fun, not historical accuracy.

  • @Yaminoyori there just having some fun with it its like germany reenacting our civilwar that happened here in america they have little knowledge of it and ya gotta have some fun

  • @Yaminoyori Well hate to burst your bubble but this is just for fun...not realism!

  • @camouflagelane It looks awesome :D I wonder, what was the requirement for what gauge of steel???

  • @Pointburn Oh....I am no expert on this stuff...I was just looking ;)

  • @camouflagelane No problem :P

  • @wburton16 scrivi in inglese. è meglio!!

  • @Walter1453 I said, for you to insult an entire country of people by claiming that we all eat at Mcdonalds and that our country is shit, then call me ignorant makes you a hypocrite. I also added that the only reason anyone gives a shit about Italy is because the romans lived there a couple thousand years ago.

  • this looks horrible. you are raping history. armour isnt authentic and you fight like pussies. by the way it is inapropreate for a knight to talk like this or act like a douchebag.

  • @AngelCorpse666 lawl

  • Where is this taking place!!!!???

  • Epic THIS IS GOING TO BE A NEW GAMESHOW!

    Jnight MMA XD

  • This looks stupid as hell

  • mordikaiser

  • @Shekillaboom mordekaiser es numero uno HEU HUE HUE HUE HEUHU E

  • very very very good....nice XD

  • Soooooooo... Historically inaccurate.

  • Ok here comes the combat nerd. It's like watching people use them like clubs. Deflect with the broadside, use the blade for the dirty work. I know it's just for fun, but that is some god-awful combat.

  • americans and full plates...

  • @Oopechka Recreational SCA. Try Ringen for hilarity.

  • I died laughing at 1:12 punching him in the back of the head.

  • crazy

  • yer name is goth6satan, yet you post music by one of the most christian bands out there.... odd. cool vid though.

  • i saw this vid again, looks funny,, but it looks like more wrestling lol

  • see on ikka täitsa pann video

  • 1:10 When the guy hit the other guys head down in the ground multiple times.. Sheesh

  • @Pointburn And what about 1:36? These guys are mental. Awesome, but mental.

  • No sabeis el ridiculo que haceis a los ojos de un europeo.

    /watch?v=NWWujToxpiE

  • Do you americans know what means word knight? Propably not. ofcourse not. and NO..... this is not a USA state.

  • ohh my god, if i had the money this would be my love in life. haha cool deal guys.

  • @ThePeracha I'm going by suits of armour that I have seen, however in retrospect they probably weren't intended to be used for more than display. Likely based on the Victorian suits of armour which in turn were probably based on jousting armour.

  • @ThePeracha

Search "SwArta Harnischfechten" on Youtube. Bashing armor with an edge is about as ineffectual as you'd imagine and probably doesn't do any favors for the weapon.

The guys in this video look like little more than stage-fighting ren-fair type of people

  • @ThePeracha

    Wrestling, grappling and hand-to-hand mostly.

And no, not the clumsy kind you see in the video. The kind where they try to joint-lock you then stab you in the eye or the groin. Assuming they didn't do the sensible thing and just shoot you with a crossbow or run you through from horseback.

  • @ThePeracha Again, I do not claim that all plate armour suits weigh so much, I admit I'm fairly ignorant in the matter, but not stupid, different styles to fulfill different needs. I simply go by what I've seen of armour and what I know from my experiences with the material itself.

  • @ThePeracha During the American civil war there weren't many people wearing plate armour, either. The Calvarymen were light because they were used not only in battles but as scouts. They fulfilled a different need than heavy horsemen. All the plate armour I've come across has been claimed to weigh between 120-180 pounds, I imagine the 180 pound ones are mostly inferior craftsmanship, but knowing how heavy fairly thin steel can be, from working with it, 120-130 seems reasonable for a full suit.

  • @Mandolinpossum 60 pounds, 80 at most.

  • @ThePeracha Of course.

  • @ThePeracha That depends; a calvaryman wouldn't need to be extremely mobile compared to an infantryman, and thus would likely be wearing a full suit of armour. As well, a heavy infantryman would probably be wearing closer to 130+ pounds of armour, while a light infantryman could feasibly wear 60 pounds or so of plate.

  • @ThePeracha So you are on the same page with me, correct?

  • @ThePeracha A full suit of steel plate armour made for combat would be around 180 pounds. Why would you make less protective armour for combat than you would for games?

I don't know where you people are getting that armour weighs only 60 pounds. I don't think you realize just how light that is. A steel helmet can weigh around 15 pounds on its own.

  • @Mandolinpossum And because I know Youtube: While 180 pounds is heavy it does not necessarily make for slow and clumsy movement, especially when fitted to one's body. I also realize not all armour weighs so much; I was referring to full body steel plate, probably around a quarter of an inch thick, since that style is the most closely approximated in the video.

  • Not historically accurate, just super hardcore LARP.

  • They seem to be much more mobile than my typical idea of a heavily armored knight. Is it really as difficult as most people think to move around in that much armor?

  • @videogamerxx

I've seen video of a guy doing cartwheels and flips in 60lbs of heavy plate. The stuff was designed to fit you very well and with some practice and time you could probably forget you're wearing it. Our soldiers today don't carry much less in gear

  • Those of you who are talking about the armor not being heavy or above 60 pounds, let me say this. NO, if you don't know, if you were a Big Guy, lets say above 7 ft, you were usually made to wear ALOT of armor. Actually if you notice, alot of stories about European warriors being over 10ft tall had worn alot of armor.

  • @Rulictar a big guy in the 15th century was like 5 ft 8 in i doubt there was many people over 6ft

  • @lukie117 Nope. Archaeology proves otherwise. People weren't small back then like you hear on tv. Average was around 5'11 in certain populations. Actually a Romanian king once stood 13ft tall. There are countless foke-lore from medieval times that talked about giants which stood around 7 - 12 cubics tall and 3 - 5 cubics wide.

  • @lukie117 Besides, we have giants today, look at some of the basketball players, ranging anywhere from 7 - 8 feet, maybe taller, look at Andre the giant, being 8 ft tall, even one of the world's tallest men who stand 8'11, what's the possibility that they didn't have giants back then?

  • Mega lol....

  • I want to try thisXD

  • Uhm i don't mean to be harsh with the fellas in the video which are probably heaving a ton of fun but....

Dunno if u noticed but there is nothing "heavy" in those armor, i am training in medieval swordfighting but what i wear is historically accurate, an accurate armor weights around 25+ kg or in other terms 60+ pounds... there's not much jumping and elbow smashes in that, and they are not using any particular tecnique, they are just punching each other, in a real fight they're gonna be pwned :)

  • @MrSwosh89 I have worn real armor it is about 60 pounds or higher depending on the build. I figure they are just strong guys wearing 40 ish pound light plate and wailing on each other for fun. They did not claim to be historically accurate...I hope. They are at least using real steel weapons with no edges so their plate mail has to be decent enough to block those heavy blows. All in all I say let them have their fun.

  • i wnder if those are pro wrestlers in medieval outfits

  • the armors are cool, they look practycal, getting creative than recreating something historical,,, but wtf with those fighting styles xD!!!

  • @dregh94cr Thats not Euro armour. Thats fantasy d&d looking armour.

  • Horribly made 'armor', untrained fighting styles...Looks embarrassing.

  • Only heavy field plate is so heavy that a knight needed help to regain there feet after they were unhorsed. foot soldiers on the other hand wore what they could afford.or had been inherited or loaned from families that had either lost men or had none to field

  • @thatVeteran No, not field armour. Not even tournament armour. In fact, no armour was so heavy that you'd need help to get back on your feet. Such armour would be absolutely useless. It would leave you completely vulnerable, which means any peasant with an axe could stand over your prone body, take his sweet time and cave your helmet in. If such heavy armour even exists, it is a pitiful late 20th century reproduction.

  • @dregh94cr In most recorded events of thick medieval combat, knights and other armored men would resort to fisticuffs when it was needed. Lost your sword? you still have your arms and fists.

  • @YMS09D dude, theywereusually rocking metal gauntlets in their fisticuff fights so yeah, even more bad ass

  • WTF why are the comments so long???????

  • Comment removed

  • looks fun

  • Hyeaa! Ale banda dzikich z buszu wypuszczonych i analnie wyposzczonych orków!!

  • 2:13 if i was havin a mock fight and the dude punted me in the nads i would be severly fucked off.

  • i lol'd the whole time xD

  • 1:19 THIS POSITION AND ARMOUR ARE THE BEST

  • they have the most manly job ever

  • That looks like it would be so much fun.

  • Mrok... w sensie zbroje z tego co widzę

  • I was wondering why is that "medieval festival" or whatever so unhistorical, unrealistic and generally pretty stupid until i finally saw the US flag. Leave it to people with no history to make historical festivals...

  • @thepredatorpl dude y r you such a dick? i mean if you really wanna get into it they woulld probably all kik your ass just sayin

  • @evildeathmonkey1 moneys not the problem I just don't know any blacksmiths

  • its kinda like WWE, but instead of the intended audience being poor retards, this particular video is meant for nerdy faggots

  • @crotchrocket74 so i guess your a nerdy faggot for watching this too huh

  • @therasppberry i stumbled upon this gay ass shit you faggot, go fuck yourself for even accusing me of something like that, keep masturbating to fat nerds fighting in armor douche bag

  • hmm looks like fun!

  • Where do you buy the kind or armour the have?

  • @lilwalkinglegs From ye old armour smith. Most is custom made I believe. There are still some people with the skills to make a suit of armour. But expect to pay, a LOT of money. Or maybe these guys use aluminium stuff.. I don't know. There are some helmets and chainmail suits on Ebay.

  • ROTFL :)))))))) hahahaha

  • lolz watch it with the 1911 setting

  • THE HELL this is wrestling not swords

  • ack! this armor is too shiny and too thin to be used in combat. give me the tarnished protection of quarter inch steel!!!

  • epic hug at 0:24

  • That was some good Film ! Well done!

  • Their armour is really terrible, as their fighting style :(

  • where is that place? :O i wanna go there

  • no jousting?

  • lightning bolt lightning bolt lightning bolt lightning bolt lightning bolt lightning bolt lightning bolt lightning bolt lightning bolt lightning bolt lightning bolt lightning bolt lightning bolt lightning bolt lightning bolt but seriously this is like larping for people who have lives and can take a punch I LOVE IT :-)

  • song name

  • i own a suit of plate and chain and all that, i can say. after running around in it for a while its like your not ever wearing it. people that say that plate armor is clumsy and heavy are either wearing to much or arent strong enough for it. me and my buddies can sprint in them and sumer salt and all that it takes alot of time ti get use to it though

  • @MattieTheBear Where is a good place to buy plate armor?? I'm only 5'7" most armor iv'e seen is for 6' ppl ty in advance

  • @smokinhalf lol im 6'7" most of my armor i made or had custom made to my size. you should be able to use the armor for 6ft without any problems really. but just incase if you can get you hands on some armor try it out first. good luck (:

  • This combat may not be realistic, but medieval combat is not like its depicted in the movies. It was like SCA either. Its not all pretty and choreographed, and there was plenty of grappling. SCA doesnt allow grappling, which is unrealistic.

  • one day i'll buy two full sets of armors, two huge swords, go around in random city spots with a friend and start fighting. and record all the reactions.

  • ][_, ( [] ) ][_, at 1:13 to 1:15

  • Would be cooler if all armours where historically correct.

Some of them look like larpers =P

  • bad ass. how do you get into stuff like this I want to join in with my suit

  • This is Thrand !!!!!

Good video May the Gods be with you Skjald Bothirs!!!!!!!!

  • cool presentation

  • Fun to see :) Alot fresher then the usual "sword fighting demostration" movies that usualy look sooooooo fake and boring.

  • I wonder if they made all of that themselves. Not really anywhere I know of to buy it haha

  • the hand to hand stuff was cool but very little did they engage in fist and wrestling in the mid ages. it was far to difficult and stamina demanding with armor

  • @MrMeineNamen There's nothing about Mid Ages in this vid. Maybe the armors. Or the swords.

But, I assure you, this is NOT mid ages fighting. Hope they're not believing to do it the right way, man...

  • @MrMeineNamen Not true! Battle armor is not that hard to move around in and hand to hand combat was not uncommon.

  • @chaos0691 actually if you looked at correct sources you would know armor was so heavy that whenever you were knocked down you could not get up... so hand to hand was out of the question... im speaking of medieval europe... with plated armor

  • @MrMeineNamen I truly mean no disrespect when I say this, but that is a complete myth.full plate battle armor was only around 60-80 pounds. Not even jousting armor was so heavy or restrictive that a night could not get back up if He were unhorsed.

  • @chaos0691 yes but like i said before looking at the correct sources you will find many times haralds and monks were needed to return a knight to his feet

  • @MrMeineNamen The armor back then wasn't anywhere near as heavy as the stuff I wear is and I can get up just fine.
