    RIP my Friend.

    Thank you for the listing.

  • I am so happy that I was a teenager in the 60's in Britain. Thanks for posting this. I have been away from Britain for many years now, but yearn for home when I watch these wonderful videos. That was definitely an era that cannot be replaced.

  • A lost age, we'll never see his like again... Thank you so much Freddie and your Dreamers

  • RIP, Freddie. YOU were made for US!

  • @highschoolmusical841 Freddie died on 19th May 2006, a very sad day.

  • What a hoot. It's as though Monty Python made a satire of the British Invasion.

  • Well this was the first ep I've got from my parents log long long ago, so I have special memories on Freddy en Co, very nice to see it back after about 50 years

  • Comment removed

  • Crikey. Who knew that snooker player Jimmy White played guitar! ;oD

  • @demonufo LOL

  • @demonufo LOL

  • I didn't know he had died!!! I remember seeing him at Butlins when i was 4 and i bought the cassette lol, how sad.

  • what did he die of..old age???

  • @pentogram23 Freddie died aged 69 after being taken ill whilst on Holiday, he had previously been diagnosed as suffering from emphysema.

  • I saw Freddie and The Dreamers at Wigan Casino and they where brilliant.

    RIP Freddie and thanks

  • RIP Freddie, you Legend.

  • ..wow!

  • I always liked Freddie's voice. I wonder when he gave up jumping every few seconds. Man, that guy could jump!

  • @dahur He had a problem with his knees and had to stop it was reported at the time.

  • @didsles

    Thanks for the info.

Watching this again, I noticed the guitar players voice sounds just like Freddie's.

  • @didsles I should think so - being a pro tennis player is nothing compared to a career of doing the Freddie! What a great guy...

  • keep on rockin freddie

  • i saw freddie and the dreamers live at the Doncaster Gaumont in the late sixties in pantomime called the tinder box they wear fantastic.R.I.P. freddie.

  • In the band's later years, probably say 15 years from the height of their career, Freddie always knew the act was anachronistic (behind the times). But it was his humour that carried him through. In the 70's or 80's a tv presenter asked him why they weren't making the charts any more, and he said with a laugh "because we're crap" A little unjustified, as he was a great warm and cheerful entertainer. They did some lovely tunes as well. Not just bang on for their time, but always entertaining.

  • @PeteWoodier Yes, it sounds like they didn't change their sound as some contemporary musicians did. The Beatles sound progressed through the 60's, so they remained relevant. Those artists who did not develop a "timeless" sound did not. I am not really into these guys, but they sound talented.

  • You can't beat that Merseyside Beat !

  • Sounds just like the old mersey sound Freddie had always done!!

  • They still sound very good

  • Still at it right until the end, although noticeably more restrained - guessing the aging bones didn't allow for such mad antics at their age!

  • how do you get him to come to Australia i think he would kill them in the clubs

  • Wonderfully goofy, that Freddie. And the band sounds pretty good for a live TV thing. Doesn't look like Freddie is singing lead here, maybe the years took a toll on his singing voice - he could still do the crazy laugh. I'm about 6 years too young to remember the British Invasion as a teenager, but I inherited my older brothers & sisters box of used 45's. This one was in there. My older sister pulled a hamstring trying to do the Freddie without proper warm-up. Thanks for the post.

  • fantastic, this guy was the tops for me in the 60s.

wish we had someone like this nowadays..we live in a sadder world without him...

  • "If you gotta make a fool of somebody" was the kind of downhome R&B you could only hear in Soho basements - or from Freddie - in 1964.

A clown who was also the hardest of rockers; that wouldn't happen now.

  • Always liked seeing him on TV....I also would have liked to see him in person........RIP Freddie

  • Much love on here for Freddie. I agree wholeheartedly. Loved him as a kid. Parents were dumbfounded by his antics. I loved him then and now. Sorry I never got to see him live. I must say that those two guys sitting to the side make me think of Statler and Waldorf. RIP funny gentle Freddie.

  • I graduated in 1965 and we were all doing the Freddy at the senior prom. I always smile when I see him in these vids. He was pure fun, and if you didn't get it, that's your loss. JIM Ziegler

  • Bless him,he "did the freddy" till the end.

  • rip freddie never for gotten

  • He's still so funny... Love his music so much!

  • He was really funny in real life too, when we were on a 'Date', (when I was a young guitar playing teenager, before I joined a Band,) we went to Doncaster Bowling Alley and he was pretending to throw himself along with the ball along the Alley.......Ha ha ha ha ha......... Fond memories Freddie. X

  • looked like groucho marx

  • Before my time but it was great but it's not so long, Went to another state just like that guy Sky Saxon,

  • freddie spent is last days living in trentham, stoke-on-trent

  • I was lucky enough to see freddy and rhe dreamers in concert at Skegness in 1982. It cost £2.50 for a ticket and I swear it was one of the best most entertaining concerts I have seen. I been to many concerts and festivals featuring top artists but I swear this was absolutely amazing. I remember watching freddy on TV when i was a child and loved him then.

  • Wonderful!

  • He came from Manchester, but Freddie Starr was someone else. From Liverpool, I think, but I'm not sure.

  • Freddy and the dreamer was my 1st lp. A long time ago. Fun

  • that's great , thanks for sharing

  • How cute! Freddie aged very well! A fun band and a fun song!

  • Love you, Freddy!!!!!!!

  • besides being a great musician, I bet Freddie was so entertaining in concert,

his music is so fun to listen to

  • thanks for the miles of smiles

  • Wonderful group! Great songs! Lovely memories ....

  • People should listen to all of his recordings. They would then see what an innovative......nutter he was. God bless old friend.

  • I love this guy. He just seemed to have a lot of fun doing what he was doing. I just saw a film called Parasomnia... a kind of dark fairy tale that coming out this year. The movie is dedicated to Freddy Garrity... SERIOUSLY!!! It says so at the end of the film... REALLY!!!

  • rip death 2006 :(

  • The Happiness of this song is so obvious.Vintage stuff

  • What a beautifull person and a free spirit, the world needs more like Freddy.God Bless you Freddy, when i think of good times in my life I think of you and the British Invasion.Love and respect from America.

  • memories are made of this,RIP freddy.

  • rip freddie. his songs always makes me happy. life should not be taken so serious sometimes. have a ball ya all listening to this song. its all cool.

  • Fabulous!

  • Keep it coming Freddie!!!

  • Wow awesome!

  • good old freddie

  • Freddie/Dreamers had an unwitting role to play in rock history. Paul McCartney said that the Freddie and Dreamers's version of "If You Gotta Make A Fool Of Somebody" was a Beatles arrangement. Beatles played it in Manchester. Freddie copied it,and were performing this arrangement. Because of this incident,Beatles decided to concentrate on their own compositions. The rest is History. The Beatles forgave Freddie and the Dreamers, invited them to do a appearance in their 1964 Christmas Special.

  • RIP Freddie

  • I mentioned that Freddy was still a cutie. Yes, he has passed on to that Rock and Roll Haven. But all of his fans can still enjoy watching his performances.

  • This is a favorite of mine when I need a happy break and remind myself not to take life too serious.

  • Can't be judged against today's 'artists' - the 60's & 70's were very different times.

But F&tD were VERY popular in their day; always entertaining.

AND, no-one who saw them in concert, watched them on TV or listened to any of their many hit records were ever moved to bad behaviour!

    Thanks, lads.

  • Is Freddie dead?

  • Yes, sadly he died last year, or 2 years ago.

  • Right till the end--he still had that goofy laugh--God love ya freddy!!

  • Hihihi!!!

  • je découvre.

    SUPER FREDDIE.

    New fan France 2008!

  • Glad to see they went out on a high note, knowing how beloved they really were!

  • They were terrific! BTW, are those the original guitarists & drummer? Thanks

  • Beautiful song. The melody is wonderful. Freedie looks great. God bless The Dreamers.

    Thanks for posting!

  • Did anyone see him fly across the stage? I remember that he loved the false entrance and he just took your breath away with his act. Just how did he sing so well and dance like that I will never understand and I am so pleased that I did see him live in the 60's :D

  • i saw him in dartford kent about two yearsbefore he died, and as always he was great,i wonder if the hip-hop bands and rapp stars will still be doing there stuff??

  • Super cool!!

  • These guys were absolutely bonkers back in the 60's and still nuts here too.

    Crazy ... bless 'em ;-))

  • I actually broke my foot doing the Freddie at a crowded slumber party!

Many years later, in the early 80's I actually got to see the band during the British Invasion tour. The Trogs were there, and Gerry and the Pacemakers. Does anyone remember this tour?

  • Saw Freddie and the Dreamers about a year before Freddies's death, and although he was obviously unwell, he still gave his all. Feel quite honoured to be one of those the 'picked on' in the audience! Great man, sadly missed

  • He died? That sucks! He sounds like one of the few you can actually recognize their voice at this age. Everyone else seems that their voices are shot.

  • He looked a bit like Jackie Wright here. I half expect Benny Hill to come out and smack him on the back of the head. (RIP, Freddie)

  • Freddy was FUN! Every time he went on The Ed Sullivan Show on Sunday night, all the kids in Junior High were doing "The Freddy" the next morning at the school bus stop and were having a great time of it! Freddy had a great time of it, and he made people happy. Look at him go! YAH!!

    =D

  • Ahhh, Freddie and The Dreamers! A reminder of my youth. This was a 'feel good" band. They would take songs that "serious" bands rejected - and make them hits!

Makes me smile when I see their act.

    RIP Freddy Garrity.

  • 5*

    nice nice

  • Freddy never lost it----------o God love him!!

  • I agree.... even when he's pretty old here, he still has it. Though he was somewhat before my time so I never had the full experience.

  • Terrific!

  • It is impossible not to feel at least slightly happy while listening to Freddie and the Dreamers

  • Very true, not many groups have that "happy-factor"

Vaguely remember a tv show staring freddie when i was a nipper, all i really remember was the phrase "A figbox of your imagination"

Anyone else remember this or is it a figbox of my imagination?

Answers on a postcard please to....

  • yes it was an itv children's show starring freddie and the dreamers, (in the 70's i think), called 'little big time', mainly comedy and some music, although there was a children's narrative theme to it, (not unlike emu tv or wizbit)

  • They still sound good. I love music from the Ford Falcon era.

When did Freddy pass away? And when was this one done?

  • can't beleive at that age they were having so much fun. great to see. r.i.p

  • Such fun .... I just got their Best Of CD... classic tunes.. great mixture...

  • He must have been a great guy

  • Good to see old Freddie was a fun bloke and never grew up! RIP Freddie, and Thanks for the memories.

  • My Dad took Freddie's apendix out!

  • we're not going to see that in on E bay are we ?

  • Merc-did your Dad save the famous appendix in a jar or wasn't it famous yet? Was the removal filmed? That would be a revealing bit for YouTube. Loved Freddie's music!!!

  • good old freddie

  • Thanks for this. This is great. I was so sorry to find out that Freddie died in 2006. I guess it means we're all getting older. But as this shows, just because you're getting older doesn't mean you can't be young inside. God bless Freddie.

  • That's true after all we're only here for a little while by the way what year was this recorded?
