  • twine would work just as could this is what i am using

  • im gonna use mine for airsoftand paintball baby!!!!!

  • @0:40 is a personal reminder haahaa!!

  • imma gonna use it for paint ball thumbs up if u are too

  • 1:24 "i have been showing you using the finger" lol

  • I made mine with nitting string is that good

  • can some one help me with something @ 4:13 the burlap looks really soft my burlap is really is really itchy like feel and really stiff and not like that at all can someone inform me please?

  • @TheMrEpicFail washing it helps, also dying it overnight helps it too

  • I hear rain

  • U can use scent killer

  • My dad served in the military for 21 1/2 years..... he's going to help me arrange everything to where it needs to be

  • guys the video is very good. BUT YOU SHOULD HAVE MADE THIS ON A SUNNY DAY! :D

  • @DERZWERGE11 but then he might have been seen

  • Can't you u soak it in fire retardant if ur not using it for animals, to make it less flammible?

  • good end note

  • if you don't want to do the tedious work of unravelling the burlap, buy jute twine... its about a dollar a roll and it works the same... just cut different lengths; dye it in different colors in Rubbermaid containers, and let it dry... you will have to wet it to get the "roll" shape out anyway

  • Are you guys at the Oregon Rilea Military base, with all that rain it has to be Oregon!!!

  • @yfjumper OR Washington, iot rains in Seattle hella

  • how long tme did they use on one ?

  • y do they do this in the rain, it will ruin the suit because the shoe goo wont set properly

  • i dont get why he says to rewash with UV killing wash or watever... there trying to kill ppl not animals....

scent shouldnt be as bad were humans we should kno if our ghillie smells a lil weird...

idk just sounded weirrd when he braught a HUNTING aspect to this when they seem more lkely to be used the ghillie to kill ppl

  • @golfer15963 it's not about those guys making it to disguise themselves so they can operate their missions and whatnot in this video, it's about making a ghillie suit and anybody can use a ghillie suit for various purpose (i.e. hunters can use them for disguise while hunting, hence the hunting advice).

too much video gaming perhaps? XD

  • @TheZerosabre no i just figured they were military guys who were serious about taking out ppl... theres so manny scent and the new UV craze in the hunting world, me personally i think over time the UV will die in my hunting clothes or fade away that the deer wont see me I harvested 2 this past season already. and i think leaving the fabrics in a box of baking soda all shaken up and mixed well will kill most the scent or just hang it up outside for a while.

  • is it possible to use scent killer?

  • nice work guys!!!!!!!!from sniper team greece( the marathonians)if you ever come to greece respond to see our techniques. sorry for my english!!!

  • if i want a ghillie into location with a lot of leaves can i use the whole stripes of jute? or i ll lose the short fibres? #

  • 3:28 his bdu shirt makes it look like hes got superhuman balls lol

  • @soldierside365 ur gay.....

  • once u got it jerk it for a sec lol

  • XD XD :D

  • cooleo i liv in washington

  • if I were an enemy of the U.S. like russia, iran, north korea, china, or even syria, I'd just type in 'Navy Seals, or Army Rangers, or Marines' etc like' training methods' along with 'patroling ', hand n arm signals', 'evasive manuers' , etc etc then theyd learn alot....

  • Im so proud of my ghillie suit, I think I'll show my enemies how I do it....so they'll know what to look for and how to find me! and then they can take my idea and make it better! idots. why dont u show us ur stalkin techniques and manuvers...being proud will get u killed.

  • @ancbcc but, dont u think that soldiers that were in the army, and been taught all the tactics and stuff, have joined the "enemy's camp?". So the enemy already has the signals and stuff, so its youtube that will give them out.

  • cant u tie the middle of the burlap y do u tie the top of the burlap

  • Hi will pre camouflaged Burlap work like the material is already camouflaged

  • @LoneSniper27 You'll notice that when you shred the precammo burlap, it will appear to be all tan with hints of color in it and not much green. It would work ok for a desert type situation but you will have to dye or spraypaint it if theres green in the terrain. It's a project that can always be altered. Be aware of what colors are in the area. You can use natural vegitation to fill in spots but remember after a while it will die or whilt and not look natural so you'll have to re-veg.

  • where do you get shoe goo

  • i would recoment using jute thread rather than burlap

  • If you're in a forest enviroment, Throw in some burnt red. It might seem silly but it acts like thick undergrowth.

  • @rhinogek And maybe a pine needlish color for us in the south. Great idea!

  • @JoNbOyyy1 is that sarcasm

  • @rhinogek nah. down here, theres alotta pine. well where i live

  • @JoNbOyyy1 hmm, we usually have that up north

  • @rhinogek Want me to take a pic of where i live? Greenwood, South carolina. lol

  • 5:34 " with my colour pattern "

said earlier that there shouldnt be any pattern :D

  • its better to cut 1 yard x 1yard burlap and frey that, you get 2 times asmuch burlap as you are geting it from both X and Y axis, afterwards make a granny knot, double the burlap with half you need, listen to 3:00, that method is better but longer!

  • what colors could i use for north florida, for the burlap

  • Do you tie the knot in the middle so there are two strands per tie or tie it at the end so you have one long strand?

  • Won't the burlap tear off after you fray it because fraying it makes skinny lines that could rip off easily?

  • @hellooooofulful i got a ton of burlap for like 10 bucks at lowe's but thats a lot of burlap

  • @redpagez Yeah same. you can get it at walmart in 12'x54'' sheets for 10 dollars

  • can original string work?

  • if it's a random pattern.... doesn't that mean that it doesn't have a pattern?

  • @TheDarkSide599 Everything has a pattern.

  • @TheDarkSide599

patterns are always random lols :d

  • @TheDarkSide599 Yes. A random pattern is an oxymoron.

    LOL :P

  • @TheDarkSide599 Although he probably didn't think that much of that sentence, if one made it completely random, it could result in a what would be normal pattern (like strips), so applying in a random pattern would result in no obvious patterns visible easily but has no strike guidelines. Also there is also the point that nothing can truly be random.

  • the more dirt you got on your ghillie suit the more you blend xD

  • My ghillie suit was waaay too dark and didnt match my terrain at all.

  • I usually don't rate videos on Youtube. I gave thumbs up for all 9 videos. Thanks

  • instead of shoe goo can we use mighty mend it lol just kidding

  • shit this series is freaking perfect

  • how do you die(?) burlap as i have only seen cloth color that you have to use your washing machine on (washing machine before cutting it up? is it possible)

  • snow type is cool!!! but difficult

  • I really prefer synthetic materials. They are more durable, don't rot, don't burn, don't shed, etc... A bit more expensive, maybe, but pays off in the long run.

  • @TheCrazyFinn

    dosnt camoflage well thogh

  • @zane98zane Sure they do. They come in natural colours, as well, and are not too shiny, unless you want them to be.

  • what kind of canvas would i buy. all i can find is painters canvas. and where can i buy it plz replay.

  • @invertmininick If u check out some sail shops, or heavy sheet shops, you should find something close enough to canvas. You can even visit a swag maker and ask for some offcuts or do the same with a shop that makes Sails.

    Connor

  • what if you have the burlap already frad

  • As i said in the first video you can get burlap from fabric stores and burlap bags (as in sand bags) at military stores or a hardware store

  • @mrtaco19 WHAT thts you in the video i thought tht you got this off a website

  • @mrbubbles338 ... thts not me in the video. i just posted a comment to the first video saying where you can et the burlap cuz someone was asking

  • Nice video ! thanks where can I get burlap sacks or burlap ? :)

  • Party foul.

  • only bad part with fraying is when some of the thread comes off the suit completely and then you can be tracked!

  • I didn't know that creativity in arts is in the military, kinda fun, at least for that part. .

  • lol rain delay

  • i use twine and camo burlap

  • theres no point in de-stringing the bags. All you have to do is tie on the strings that fall off....

  • what colors should i use for a forest in minnesota

  • if u are hunting humans in sports such as paintball or airsoft or even during warfare do u have to do the same thing

  • can someone give me a full list of all the materials that they use in these videoes??

  • @omgutt222 yea me too pleese

  • if you're an expert and this is how you do it, why did you not know how sticky shoe goo is?

  • @degwsan420 hes a ghillie suit expert not a glue expert

  • what burlap do you use ?? ie size and length?

  • I went to walmart and they have camo sheet type things for $10 an piece and it is 4 1/2 feet by 12ft...I bought 3 of them for a xxl hoodie...I hope it is too much so then i can get a gun wrap...My paintball gun is blue and chrome!!!LOL

  • were do i get the moulage netting???

  • For those who can't see it, the helpful hint at 2:00 says: Match the coloration patterns of your enviroment

  • Is there anything cooler than a flight suit? Because I'm sweating like crazy in mine.

  • a thin jacket and pants... but then its 2 piece

  • Maybe you could cut some vents in the flight suit?

  • your supposed to wash it to weed out all the pieces that wont stay in your ghillie suit

  • is it raining? it sounds like it.

  • make sure when ur done to spray it with a flame retardant bcs u dnt wanna look like a xmas tree on fire

  • where do you find fire retardant spray?

  • there this locally sports store out where i live that sells it but u can try and look for it at any sports store or try walmart seems like they sell anything these days

  • why do you need the retardant? i mean i understand why... but wat r the chances of getting on fire?

  • realy small. but im a guy who just likes finishin all the steps no cuttin corners. i live in the desert and if your out all day that sun hits ur ghillie and one ejected shell can cause u trouble. im just cautious

  • sewing all the way. stronger and no scent.

  • Hey. Uhh, Whats a good replacement for shoe glue?

  • just get some green string and sew it, much stronger, or u could use rubber cement

  • Depending on what your using your Ghillie for... of paintball or hunting use rubber cement. It will last a bit longer the sewing string on it or if your just showing it off the go with the sew ^_^

  • gorilla glue

  • super glue or another type of glue maybe hot glue, rubber cement that stuff. I use "GOOP" it's even better than super glue but it's pretty much the same thing as the shue goo

  • hot glue gun,

or just safety pin it on. (not as professional but will work.)

  • Gorrila glue is pretty good too.

  • liquid nails is good :)

  • How would I wash my ghillie?

  • lol no need if it gets a lil muddy thats gud it will match the other spots

  • soak it with a hose then hang on a close-line to dry.

  • with mine i hosed mine once hung it in my potatoe cellar and the next day made a mix of horse amanure and dirt and threw it on the suite to cancle out all human sent

  • I made a suit with jute thread. Easier then burlap.

  • @deathcometh61 You don't only want the jute thread. You also want at least a few strands of burlap on your suit to make it look more ratty and nutural.

  • @deathcometh61

    jute is burlap dumdass

  • @deathcometh61 not as good though

  • @deathcometh61 it's said to hold up better over time too

  • @deathcometh61 i did both

  • @deathcometh61 Yes, and ist easier to dye/spray paint :)

  • @deathcometh61 im using both at the moment, we'll see how it turns out... i have more jute thread than burlap

  • @deathcometh61 Both would be better :)

  • @deathcometh61 what is jute? cause i dont really get it... can u define it?

  • @Hardhardcorestyle think of a burlap bag...thats pretty much jute, i go to my local fabric shop and buy it. They should have it labeled "100% jute" it comes in tanish colors to be begin with but use RIT dye and your set... also if u dye it first< then take it apart in strands its a lot easier to work with.

  • @MarcusMcGinnis89 thanks, i get it now.i got burlap bags, couldnt find any dye with these colours, and spray painted them. it proved out it failed big time. now i'll dye them properly. Btw i made a "willing-to-be ghillie poncho" with 2 nets(190x90m). now i gotta dye these bags before putting them onto the nets.

  • @Hardhardcorestyle no prob, ya i use tiger stripe bdus (seperate pants and jacket) so i dont need to break up the front with paint...plus i hate wearing flight suits! haha but dyeing them in sheets allows u to hang them up to dry, in front of a wood stove etc...just make sure they are a safe distance away! it will burn dont forget...remeber to mix colors of dye if u need sumthin thats custom to fit ur area (tangerine and SLOWLY add dark green, it will give you a rich wood color) have fun w/ it

  • how do you get bugs such as spiders out of your ghillie suit?

  • Tweezers

  • lol, u dont

  • @KOLOCAL you dont :(

  • @KOLOCAL fart, then getting them out will be unnecessary =P

  • Can't you just gle the burlaps to it instead of using a net?

  • ive done it it works better, I mean It attaches better

  • Using the net provides you a possibility to change them if you need it, like in the fall you want completely different colors than during spring.

  • Well if you net the suit, then add the burlap, you can go out into the area your going to be playing in, and then break off sticks, or, twigs, or local leaves, and then lace them into the netting. You cant do that with just burlap strips.

  • how many burlap bags wound u need fo 1 suit

  • 1 or 2

  • can you still crawl on your stomach with a full body ghillie?

  • Yes, but the front will evidently get more dirty.

  • it will get hung up on everything as you crawl giving away your position

  • not if you make it correctly.

  • yes but itll be harder and you will weigh a ton wet

  • Lol, i just PaintBall, but i scared the hell out of my friend when this bush(me) moved right beside him, lol!!! This is great!!!

  • u can also use fake moss. Dark green or light green. You can get it at a local art store

  • ey why did you cut it into 8 inches? most places ive heard you cut it into 18 to 24...

  • because gravity wont pull the 8 inch string down as much as the 24 inch one. This way, the string sticks out slightly, creating a bushier look!

  • everybody plz answer this, are they using synthetic or real jute, and what should i use?

  • dont use jute us burlap that away u dont have to die it

  • I got pre-dyed jute. And if I want to blend, I can just attach two different colours together or something like. Idon't know, I'll find I way. My whole life I've been just making-do with what I had. I made some awesome couflage using and old hockey jersey, a cedar tree leaf thingy and Krylon camo spray paint. For an example, in the movie Shooter, the main character camos his gun like that.

  • jute or burlap both work fine i used jute on my second gillie and it worked fine. and yes they are using real burlap

  • neither they are using dyed burlap and undoing the frayed ends

  • there using neither they use a material called burlap its the same stuff patato sacks are made of, and i would recomened it strongly

  • true.

however. burlap is not the only material that is used.

"Jute" AKA twine found at your local hardware store can be used as well.

i would go with synthetic materials such as polypropylene, when dyed it looks exactly the same as jute or burlap but is lighter, more breathable, and is already flame retardant.

a ghillie suit is essentially an over sized fire starter IT WILL IGNITE. all it takes is a discarded cigarette bud or spend cartridge

  • dude i really like ur vids and there really helpfull thanks

  • on my ghillie suit (if u have big squares, it takes 1-2 strips... but if u have little squares just one) trust me its looks nice and you can always go back and put on more strips if you want

  • Ok, how many 8inch strips of burlap for each square of netting?

    Many people need this answer....

  • about 3 or 4

  • 3:20 do you see me there? lol... jk

  • How many strings do you tie to a square in the net

  • do you use a hat with a bill or not?

  • Doesn't matter

  • cery helpful ive been wondering how to make one for woodsball games

  • how many sacks does it take???

  • very nice tips, esp about the drying and unscenting.

  • Hell yeah. I was screwing with my burlap yesterday, trying to find a good effective method for fraying it. Finally I cam up with a method similar to this, that produces about 2 strings every half a second.

It may be tedious work, but for a sure advantage on the woodsball field, I'll commit to the project.
