  • nako.. pag makita 'to ng NHI.. HULI KA BALBON! :D

  • STANFORD likes hip hop? lol.

  • it's interesting to see how there's mixed reactions to the "modern" style, i personally liked it, it's putting the traditional folk dance and showing some creativity with it, i really don't see anything wrong with doing that.. :) and this thing about "respecting" the folk dance, it's really not a disrespect to it, if anything i prefer to think about it as a tribute, that's my opinion on it. great job guys ^_^

  • not so nice making a traditional folk dance into modern one

  • also..it was ok for me..it was good!=)

  • seriously...keep the traditional!...it's better and if you want to change it or add stuff to it...dont changed it or add stuff like those "sexy" moves...just saying...keep it traditional...respect it!

  • i really dont understand what everyone is complaining about; how was this dance bad? they performed the traditional version and then they incorporated some dance from THEIR time? They've honored their culture and tradition through performing it the traditional way, the stuff at the end was just extra entertainment so that their friends could relate. Stop the bashing, we're all pilipino here, it's embarassing watching your own countrymen go at each other's throats.

  • whoops, get rid of the question mark after 'time"

  • The traditional dance did not lose its integrity since it was done entirely in its form; the follow up hip hop dance is not a modern version or interpretation since it merely applies the mechanics of the folk dance.

    That's how I viewed it...and why I enjoyed it.

  • Though the modern part was cleverly than I should say, to be fair to the dancers, still, I don't agree messing up the traditional dance. Let's respect all our country/folk dances, and maintain its purity. Wag naman nating babuyin.

  • I agree

  • Great job! That was really good! I have a Tinikling Dance Club at my school. We're still learning though. I can't wait to mix in the modern with the traditional. It was really awesome!

  • BANYOS BANYOS BANYOS

  • All of you "not proper" comments, buy a sense of humor.

Appreciate the skill without griping that it's not traditional.

  • excellent version! Colonialism? Get real jhufel....America gave more in money, aid and lives than they ever got back. The money was invested because Americans love Filipinos!

  • SHAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEE.thats not ours you could have stick and have the decency to project it in our own way........

  • I REALLY LIKE THE TRADITIONAL ONE

SHOULD HAD JUST DON'T THE TRADITIONAL

I DON'T CARE IF YOU GUYS ARE FROM STANFORD

STAY WITH THE PILIPINO PRIDE (AS YOU CAN SEE I'M USING p INSTEAD OF f FOR FILIPINO CAUSE THATS HOW WE TRUE PINOYS ARE K) PINOY PRIDE BABY.

  • yeah, so traditional should stay traditional and modern should well, stay modern. I didn't find it "amazing" at all. more tricks would've been more amazing with the traditional version than "dancing all up on each other while attempting to do what you all think is tinikling" From such a humble person, I did not like this version at all.

  • i dont mind if we manifest this "colonial mentality" thing in different ways of our lives coz literally it's hard to turn it around..too late..but letting this through our cultural dances? thats too much already..PLEASE DELTE THIS VIDEO!!..its a shame!

  • It was very interesting in the traditional way but the"modern" method was not proper IMO. My wife from the P.I. and I have been married 45 years. Our daughter did the Pandango sa ilaw for a cultural project during high school in the 1980's and did very well with the lighted candles in the glasses. We have German, English, Scotch-Irish, Dutch, Filipino, Spanish, Africa and Portugese, and French-Canadian in our family with two ddaughters-in-law and one son-in-law originally from other countries.

  • wow amazing!!;,,,good work'...

  • hey!i like the traditional AND the modern version!

  • Aesthetically, its has SOME appeal. They are very creative. My concern is, we as a culture are sacrificing our identity as Filipinos at the altar of the American ephemeral fad.

  • it was good until Ciara came in... out goes Filipino tradition and culture... in comes the almighty American Imperialism...how sad.

  • it was good until ciara came in...

Out goes tradition and filipino culture... here comes the almighty American Imperialism...so sad.

  • it's like making fun of the traditional dance . traditional is traditional ... it should not be changed at all.

  • it was realy good.. until the modern version came in... It just doesn't match no matter how well the performance was.

  • i like the traditional version better :

  • Nice. I prefer traditional, but the modern twist was much better than what some other people try to do. I'm coming to the Farm this fall and I wanna join PASU and Kayumanggi, so it's nice to get this tiny preview.

  • I first saw this dance in Thailand and thought, "WOW! That was great!" Then my wife, a Filippina herself, said she did that in school. Love how they updated it with modern music as well. Great job!! :-)
