Huge gaps between major panels, orange peel paint and interior squeaks and rattles are the goal of the day in North American car plants, that is if they're not on strike because $40/Hour isn't enough to do a repetitive job task.
@7477238 What is your statistical analysis to suggest this is the case in the 21st century? Are you an Asian or European advocate? The problem I have with such broad sweeping statements is that the proponent of the statement is usually spitting vitriole not facts. I'm neither pro-American manufacturing nor pro-union or anti-union to this production as it is in Canada, but the statistics bear out that the Chrysler 300 is a formidable competitor to Euro and Asian producers.
@Moosey1789 Well forget statistics for a just a short while. I actually had a 2011 Chrysler 300 for a rental and what a piece of garbage it was. The interior had tons of gaps and there were multiple pieces I could take apart with my bare hands. The car drove fine but still lagging behind competitors. You know what that car screamed to me? It screamed a big FU to all of the loyal customers who spend their hard earned money on domestic products only to acquire a piece of garbage for a car.
I dont buy that toyota knew they had a problem and did nothing till alot of innocent died for it . I guess why the ceo of the company drives other brands. I have 20 years exp in salvage cars toyota is the worst . so take your toyota stick it up your ass and move to japan or china !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! buy american or german the only real cars in the world.
@997boy nah, don't get caught in mainstream media. the reality is Toyota has always been and will be the best car maker in the world. Always best quality and bang for the buck. don't be an ave joe, you are better than that!
My mom was laid off from Magna back when the recession hit. She worked there for over 10 years. Does anybody know if the Chrysler plant is still hiring? We live 5 minutes away from this amazing plant.
I remember this place when it was an American Motors plant in the early 1970's. It's so nice to see that it's still running! Anybody remember the Javelin SST or the Ambassador? Those were great cars in their day! Until this day, I refuse to buy any Japanese car...I just don't like Japanese tin boxes! Hondas rust and Toyotas kill people...so what's the problem with buying domestic?
@MegaTmarshall great story and i feel the exact same way....I love good ol american cars and trucks there just something about our heritage and the great cars that america has built!!!! The perception is that toyota, honda, etc. is better but in reality they are no better! When was the last time you saw an 80's model toyota?I see a lot of old domestic cars, trucks still on the road! c'mon people have some pride in your country and buy domestic!!!!!!!!
@msclecarcrzy Greetings from Canada! Well said & you are right about the last time I saw an 80's Toyota on the road. I have a pristine 1979 Cadillac Coupe de Ville and I take it out on cruz nights in the summer. Even a guy with a horseless carriage shows up. Everyone is welcome to show off their cars but there are no Hondas or Toyotas of any vintage coming out for the weekly event. Why? It's because you can probably fit them in your back pocket by now! I'd rather walk than drive a Japanese car!
@maddiekaitlyn i would love to work at a place like this, alot different that my present Jiffly Lube job, but we did have 5 300s come in to the shop today
I love these kinds of vids... its amazing how Henry Ford's assembly line has reached such an amazing level where several different vehicles can come out the same factory line.
@bigliketheplanet granted, I'm not a dodge man myself, but there are some fantastic American cars out there, and toyota or honda are from the epitome of automotive engineering.
@bigliketheplanet Hehe, if that was Toyota the machinery would just accelerate non stop killing everyone, then Toyota would blame it on solar rays affecting the equipment. If that didn't work, they'd also blame it on the concrete floor.. saying the machinery got confused....
Move along, if you don't like Chrysler don't buy their products and don't look at "Chrysler" related videos, idiot. Screw you, screw Toyota. They are killing people and laughing about it. And Honda? LOL.
man I hope I could get a tour of the plant, getting my 2012 Challenger SRT8! in WHITE! without the stripes
