If the the "gold" was fish, oil, gass, bisons, bever or whale, we have been there, we have harvested. What is important is that we stop protesting on things that we can not prevent from happening. The way it is today, we don't even know how many animals are being taken out of the ocean. That is dangerous for the environment.

@MrJohnnyman101 there are so many endangered species that humans hunt. did you know every second 100 trees in the rainforest are cut down. did you know the beef, pork chicken, lamb, etc, are tortured and take hours to drain blood and die? they just hang upside down for hours. a dolphin and whale is a mammal of the sea, its just like a rat, deer, etc. People deerhunt. people hunt endangered things as much.

@ModellMeister I'm not saying that its only sea creatures that have to be looked after i just think more awareness needs to be raised because we dont see mass whaling taking place where as we know about the farm animals as for hunting, i strongly disagree unless its a life or death situation in which i still dont agree but sometimes it could save a lot of lives. i don't like the fact that they are hung there for hours aswell but they aren't harpooned and live for a few minutes until they die.

Those individuals whose research focuses on lions and elephants do not routinely kill the creatures they observe. IF the Japanese whalers are truly involved in a research project why is it necessary to kill so many whales yearly...and where are the peer reviewed research papers published.
