Dachshunds have some of the sharpest teeth of any dog breed.  They will destroy just about any toy you give them except for nylabones. My doxie really liked them and would even gnaw on black walnuts because he couldn't crack them.

You should get your dog a nylabone or something similar. I used to get my daschund toys that he could chew up and he ate the pieces and had to have surgery to have them removed...it is very easy for toys to get stuck in a daschund's system!

I love dachshunds we have a one year old black and tan miniature. Although she can be a bit noisy to visitors she is the most gentle dog to the family and we would love to have another one similar to this one, a red.

very cute video, but let me warn you...our neighbors let their doxie play with a bouncy ball that same size. They had to rush him to the emergency vet b/c it got stuck in his throat. The vet said never to let a doxie play with a ball he can get into his mouth all the way. The neighbors dog nearly died. Very scary. We love our doxies and want them to stay safe!!!
