I dont have to post that when I can post this.. Afrika Bambaataa Planet Rock copied from (Numbers and Trans Europe Express) Funky 4 plus 1 "Rocking it" copied from (Man Machine) the list go's on.. So get overyourself. The discussion wasent who influnecd kraftwerk the Discussion was who influenced hiphop..
@ejektro hahahaha - firstly, any drummer will tell u dat the numbers drum pattern is funk based - kraftwerk did not create that - trans europe express is just a slowed down funk drum pattern -
@mallcolmx break beats aka "funky drummer" have been around for centuries. in fact there are ancient military cadences that sound very much like break beats. as good as he is, it didn't start with james brown.
@InSearchOfSound - So let me get this right - Funk music and those drum patterns used on Funky Drummer didn't start wid James Brown and clive stubberfield but wid '' ancient military cadences'' -- can u source me some footage or material please of those tracks u r referring too.
Just out of curiosity - can u tell me- which country- did the drum originate from ?
@mallcolmx hey you...can you not read? a beat is either straight or its got a break. these rhythmic patterns are found in nature and pre-date human history. when your heart skips a beat it is "breaking" its normal bump bump bump bump pattern.
as for the drum, what kind of drum? percussion instruments can be anything, from something as advanced as a drum machine to something as simple as a stick and a piece of wood.
@InSearchOfSound - u said '' break beats aka "funky drummer" have been around for centuries'' -- so - give me the source THAT U HEARD - that sounds like this track. SIMPLE. u then cont wid '' in fact there are ancient military cadences that sound very much like break beats'' OK NOW - POST HERE WOT U HEARD - MAKE SURE THE FOOTAGE IS prior to 1969.
You will never find anyone wid more drum ridim patterns than an African. The guy in this video is hitting drums of african origin not german
Here's an interesting factor: If it had not been for German music like Kraftwerk, There would be no AfrikaBambaata doing(Planet Rock) , from Planet Patrol - the Soul Sonic Force, African American groups that made history with this song in the early 80's. But they almost got their asses sued for it because they didn't think Germam folk would ever listen to black music. Arthur Baker seemed to have been quite confident for this reason. What German listens to black music? They won't know..
almost sounding more like CAN
