expert mode is a mode that the developer actually try to make you have no chance in winning to a very high extent. for example

nornal mode= you fall down and collect rings

expert mode= there are helicopters in your way at the beginning

the doom actually isn't that hard to get A ranking. its just that lost impact is soo long that most if not all points have to actually come from killing things! sucks doesn't it? also, digital circuit is the best level in the game!

i think u get the expert mode just by having an "a" in hero or dark missions but not in normal....... i have the gamecbube version and i have the lvl star only with the hero and dark

the levels have only heros and dark missions.

Expert mode is unlocked by getting A's in EVERY mission:hero,dark, and neutral.

well, expert mode has stages modified into a "harder" difficulty. try spotting differences between the "normal" stages and the "expert" stages, such as enemies, missing or added platforms, etc

You can unlock it by getting ALL 'A' rank in this game, that means all stages and bosses (exept the last way and devil doom)

Make sure you collect all hidden keys in Cosmic fall. The switch behind the door is really useful.

also the contiuation of my first comment. my ps2 is from 03 and its messed up with slow disc read speed and shadow the hedgehog and other games r missing parts of the background and crap!!! my ps2 sux!!

expert mode is more difficult than normal. there are more enemies and obstacles, and the goal ring is in a different location. oh, and you start off with 5 lives, and if you lose all of them, you have to start expert mode all over again

it's kind of tricky getting an A rank. kill the right enemies, get a good time bonus, oh, and use the Heal Gun to heal your "allies"

be careful i got it for ps2 and i got tired of it and only play when im bored maybe because it has weapons and vehicles that shadow dosent need!! Or maybe i just thought the game sucked because the missions r either kill, time, or rings, or the main mission. thats just my opinion though, im not saying its a bad game its just what i think!
