I want to know who sings it too. Can't find any information anywhere. I know the song is "Parla Più Piano" and there many versions of it sang by various artists. But who sings it in the end of this documentary, that's what I can't find.
the original title for part 3 was supposed to be "The Death of Michael Corleone" ..... it was such a weak film, plot to kill the pope .... the whole stock market thing .... it was similar to part 1 at the beginning .... maybe if they kept it mob related, with Michael more as a mob boss than an old man with regrets it would have worked.
Good point. The problem? It would've been another Goodfellas or a drug enigma film. Godfather III is unique because it went a different direction from the other mob movies in the late 80's and early 90's!!!
if you listen to the directors commentary in The Godfather III DVD, there were talks of a 4th film where Andy Garcia's character Vincent would turn the Corleone family to the drug trade, and would die Tony Montana style at the end ..... I know a 4th film is out of the question, but a book wouldn't be bad, I'd read it.
@anthofthedead They should've shot the 3th film like they did the 2nd film, with the story progessing Vincent realiizing hes becoming a monster and him constantly asking mike and Lucy or Connie how Sonny was and it was show flashbacks of Sonny in the 1930's Like Young Vito and Sonny's rise during Vincents fall.
Aww, GF3 was so out of style. As the writter said, they shouldn't have named it GF3 and more like Corelone's Death. Would have been a million times better.
sorry, i should have been a little more specific, since this video has actually been edited from the original version (possibly for length?) the part that hasn't been cut plays from 9:24-9:32, and in the actual documentary it plays over the speech Michael gives over the coffin asking for forgiveness in part 3. it's a version of the godfather waltz by nino rota, but it has lyrics and it's performed by a soloist. it's absurdly beautiful, I'd love to know who performed it.

the first two were so perfect, the third one would never be good enough for people, that was his curse.

@anthofthedead
I think if they had Robert Duvall in, it would have been different.

My problem with G3 is I couldn't follow it, especially in the opera house scene.
