is better than gould play, is deeper interpretation, you could learn les barricades misteriouses by couperin, in your hands i am sure it will be great
you did really well - excellent performance. One can see you really feel this aria all the way through. It is my favorite from Bach - sounds very different from his traditional style of music. To me Goldberg variations sound like western Tchaykovsy...very well executed! BRAVISIMO from Russia ()
Keep in mind that the story of the count who couldn't fall asleep was related by Bach's first biographer, J. Forkel, and is today widely dismissed as unlikely. It's still an amusing tale, though; it certain helps to give the Goldberg Variations character.
Thankyou, most enjoyable! My wife and I get to the Pump Room periodically and we ALWAYS make a point of applauding the artists. Everyone then catches on, as you know. As you, no doubt, realise folks get carried away with their chatting,,often meeting old friends etc. BUT I am sure the vast majority take great pleasure in your playing and appreciate it. VERY best wishes to you and BRAVO!!
Beautiful work. I absolutely agree that Glenn Gould's version of this from the 80's is one of the most achingly beautiful things I have ever heard in my life. I do note that you do not hum as you play...
This is marvelous! I have been playing some sort of music for most of my life, and this is positivly wonderful! Simply lovely to listen to... and yes, that is a very VERY nice piano! ;) keep playing and posting (please!)
Thanks to all of you for leaving such positive messages. It's a real joy knowing that the music's making people happy, i absolutely love this piece as well! Soon I'll upload more vids, including an updated Moonlight Sonata 1st Mov, for which i originally uploaded video of a pretty average performance. Keep listening.
Jools... what a perfectly delightful close you have given to my day. Your lovely playing of a perfect piece of music, accompanied by your excellent and interesting background informatiion are wonderful.I have had no musical education so I deeply appreciate all the wonderful historical detail you have provided. Thank you from a grateful heart!
This video is not only beautiful, but instructional. I wholeheartily agree with you: GG 2nd version of the Goldberg's is among to top top musical peformances EVER (of any kind of music of any time)
I like to feel sexy....knowing someone is watching me ..wanting me...turns me on!BADLY! I like to flirt and pose..and sometimes i like to get WILD! how? ..he he..come in video and youll see:-)) maybe u can teach me something..or maybe i will ! come visit me at MeetYourFling (.COM) my user-id there is wandie-vavk chat soon on cam :-) cwibrv
Merci Joolscott.
REally like this version. I cannot get enough of this Aria da Capo. I just gets into your soul. Thank you. Keep it up.

You must re-record this sometime, the background noise is somewhat distracting haha. 5 stars

I find the added ornamentation doesn't impact the delicate nature of the melody at all, very nice.

I would not be surprised if this was written by a woman, it's so bloody gorgeous.

Bach was getting in touch with his inner-female, I guess!

I love Bach, and I love your playing. Such a shame nobody in the audience seems to be listening to it.

as always, gould's execution is impeccable; however, the quality of the recording is horrible (constant loud background noise)
