I don't know how successful Kirsty was outside the UK, but she was so English, it's hard to imagine how she could have been successful elsewhere (but then even here her talent was never fully rewarded with the success it deserved), although Latin America may have loved her in her later days, and I haven't forgotten that Shane McGowan said she should have been Irish!

Kirsty took this song to number 82 in 1983.
Tracy Ullman took it to 81 in 1985. Should have got higher.
