Thanks for the very nice and objective review. I'm torn between the iconia a200 and the samsung 8.9. Am leaning more to the a200 because of the usb and microSD.
How's the a200 as an ereader? I have a kindle but I would also love to occasionally read epubs and kindle books on a tablet (not in the sun of course).
i was going to get the acer a-500 now im going to get the a-200. I was about to order the a-500 today but then i saw this now i really cant wait to get my hands on the a-200 thanks for the review loved it :)
Hi Lisa, lovely review..one question though...is this a full hd tablet..it does play 1080p content with frame drops..so would it be possible with future firmware upgrades to play videos of full hd quality without frame drops?
@MobileTechReview N Lisa..is it a better option over the arnova 10 g2 by archos which claims it plays full hd 1080p content very smoothly apparently..:)..cus i just cancelled ordering the arnova 10g2 and went fer the a200 instead..was it a wise decision?.. thanks again...cheers
@rishirajvijay I can't say because I've never used the Arnova 10. It's not easy to get Archos products in the US and they don't send us loaner review units.

To anyone out there who has this and an ipod touch- what would happen if you used the ipods charger usb and plugged it into one on the a200??? I just got really curious while watching the review.
@MobileTechReview I look for: -at least a front facing camera, I'd pay a bit more for the rear one. -smoothly plays movies and games -wifi only -runs ICS or Honeycomb -good for reading books -good battery life (especialy when watching movies) I found a case for the iconia a200 with a keyboard that is $35. I also found the Archos 80 G9 250GB for $350. If there is a different tablet for a reasonable price that fits these I will check that out too. Thanks.
Lisa ive got to say I really enjoy ur videos watching ur videos for me is like watching a bentley being put together no mistakes only facts opinon and nothing else
Hi. You are the best tech reviewer out there. I just have two questions. I am thinking about getting this tablet but then found the asus transformer. Which tablet would you recommend? Second, what do you do with all of these tablets and phones???
I´ve been following your tablet-reviews since the Xoom came out and intending to get a Toshiba Thrive. What matters to me is compatibility, usb host capability and expendable storage. I intend to use the tablet primarily for serious, text-based (ms-office & pdf), university-related work. (I decided against the Asus Transformer) Now this one seems to offer almost the same st of features as the Toshiba. Which one do you recommend?
@LincolnLM If you're on a budget the A200 will save you a few bucks. But if you want a rear camera or HDMI the A200 isn't for you. They're both solid tablets, honestly.
There are way wayyyyyyy too many tablets out on the market. They are becoming cheaper which is great. Problem is people want iPads not tablets. The only thing non-apple tablets can compete on is price.
I'm thinking of getting this because it seems very nice for the price ... BUT ... some are saying that the mic on this is so bad that it makes it almost impossible to use for voice calls and/or video chats when using something like Skype. Do you Lisa have any impressions on this? Maybe you can try to make a Skype call and let us know what you think about it?
@MobileTechReview Yes the A500 has the mic UNDER the bezel. It's horrible. I wish I had returned it but I was wanting a Tab and got tired of waiting for the Toshiba Thrive to be released. I got the Thrive which has a better mic, but by the time I got that, it was too late to return the A500 so I kept it. I'm glad Acer FINALLY put in a better mic.
all these same old dual core honeycomb tablets that keep coming out are making me sick. i thought 2012 would put an end to it. way more supply than demand imo.
Thanks Lisa!! Guess I'll stick with my original n my older 7" galaxy tab for now. Can't wait for u to get ur hands on that skyrocket HD. Last question what phone do you personally use yourself
Very useful review. It was kind of amusing to see you like playing GTA. You don't strike me as someone who would be into that game. LOL.

Well based on your review I just bought one from a local retailer for 329.00. I'm updating to ICS right now.

@rishirajvijay We stated the screen resolution is 1280 x 800. It's possible for Acer to fix the frame drops but it's not here yet.

@PuzzleNinJa23 You mean connect the iPod to the A200 via USB? Nothing would happen since Android doesn't have drivers to talk to Apple products.
