I wouldn't fret about this too much. I used to be a cashier at a grocery store. In about 5 years of doing that work, all of 1 person ever offered to pay any amount of money for someone who was short on cash. Usually I had to type in the "coupon" (wink wink) that they "forgot" to give me.

I don't feel great about giving advice about this kind of thing, but apart from the guy telling me to stop thinking certain ways, I don't think my psychologist has helped me at all. I seem to be able to take a really positive experience and make it negative. I dont even realize im doing it until the psychologist starts getting me to talk about why I think some events in my life are negative.

Maybe just go for a one hour session and see what it's like for you.
