  • I've but heard this played once on the fm radio, and that was at least 15 years ago.Blew me away. One of the most powerfull songs to come out of the 1960s.The monster is100,000 times bigger then jabba the hut today.

  • we could starve the monster by going vegan, stop eating the animals all meat and dairy, feed 800 million starving people a year on what the u.s feeds it`s live stock all so we cam factory farm them torture them and murder them

  • one of my favourite bands in one of the worst videos I've seen on YouTube - painful...

  • Alright Millianials / Gen- X, Gen-Y ers -

DO YOU UNDERSTAND THIS? We opened the door in the 60's at GREAT risk. Where are you now? Are you letting the One World-ers and Socialists run the place? Do we have to come out of retirement and take the streets back???? Get off youu ASSes before its too late. America is worth saving because she gave us all we have!!!!!!!!!!

  • John Kay and all the Steppenwolf are the best(for me)since 1968!I have see the band at the"Rise and shine"tour at Gand in Belgium(I have forgot the data(end of 1990??)

  • can anyone take the mike out of the bass players ass what crappy audio and hes really rockin great concert , shitty cam oerator

  • I don't know how old some of you are, but I was here when this song was released..back in 67 (68?) You young folks wouldn't recognize freedom because you've never experienced it!!!!!!!! And he is absolutely correct when he says that the song is even more relevant now than it was then.

  • Unfurtunately young people today do not have enought IQ level to understand the songwords, but your right, this song is today more important because can give us the real idea of what is life and world.

  • @carolo95 your wrong young music fans and punks understand the lyrics the mainstream and non music fans will never and will not get it, They Just consume music just like that crappy Mcshit. im 23 and iu stand for a number of issues and i agree this song is very powerfull and relevant just as much as Black Sabbath War Pigs is relevant today as it was in 69, But i also like dumb cock rock like ted nugent aswell.

  • @TheWick53

AMEN dude! steppenwolf kept it real!

  • @TheWick53 Yarp... I just sent the lyrics to Obama!

  • Vroom vroom busy recording and glad I watched.

  • screeeeeaaaaaaaam screaming srceaaaaaam wooooooooOOOOOOO wooooooo *clap* *clap* *clap*

  • and this needs to imbeded in minds that live...this is education

  • If only more folks would pay attention to the words... Instead of sucking down beer and big macs, instead of playing x-box and watching youtube, we need to be out protesting, holding sit-ins, taking over parks & setting up semi-permanent tent cities... The more folks, the better, strength in numbers, they can't arrest everyone. If everyone who understands would just take action, we really COULD starve the monster to death! I KNOW there are more of us than there are of them! Wake up now, DO IT!

  • lol your watching youtube

  • god damnit just play the freakin song already

  • Great song,great message,probably their best song.

  • Great song but the distortion sucks.

  • awesome. Thanks.

  • Most prophetic song ever written. In 1971 I used to fly around in my 1965 VW Beetle listening to this blaring from my 8 track. Too bad the evil is firmly entrenched now.

  • Don't yo uthink John just kills the vocals this time? Just ruins it.

  • probably the best steppenwolf song

    a masterpiece

  • He told us the story of writting it waay back in '69,with acoustic guitar & three doobs, wrote lyrics in a few hours, then had the rest of the band write music around Monster/Suicide/America trilogy.

  • You know its earrie deja vu today as the fear was in 1970. Today there is War again not in Vietnam but in Iraq. Back then it was fear of Nuclear War fall out from the Cold War of the Soviet Union(Russia),today doomsday environmental distruction of the Earth and Oil at its pace of consumption will runout in 5o years forever.

  • perhaps environmental and political de ja vu; not musical though.

  • I went to this concert. It was awesome!

  • electrochubb, what's the story? Please post it here.

  • Powerfull performance from the WOlf,real interesting story of the manner in which he wrote Monster/trilogy....waaay back when.
