people come on here to listen to his music yet all they can do is comment on how he looks. shameful. he's just a kid, he don't need to be hearing this shit.
how the fuck does he look like Tyler, the creator? Just because he wears the same type of hat? No resemblance what so ever.... Regardless of who he looks like, this kid is talented and original
@Jake504 he's actually really good bro. those are jazz chords btw, and the kids got talent he's only 17 years old and doing big shows soo i think that means he's good. doesnt it
@jcanaveral92 there are so many people more talented than this guy. as i said, music media like pitchfork are so bias towards all these 'different' artists and in the end all the hipsters who follow that website religiously claim to like this music so they can brag about it at parties with their friends. he is so overrated its not funny. there is so much better stuff out there. personality plays a large role with artists i follow, this guy has in my opinion no 'talent' nor a good voice.
@Jake504 why is talent in quotations? He's 17 years old and he's created a melodic fusion of jazz, hip-hop, and almost grunge. I heard one song from King Krule and was hooked. I have experience in jazz and music theory and he's on the cutting edge, along with James Blake.
@ImPrblyRight dude where is the jazz and hiphop? he is playing minor 7s with some hammer on and offs. its not that great. oh wow he tuned his low e string to a d! that is so amazing.
@Jake504 There is no hip hop in this song but this is certainly a jazz riff, bud, especially considering the escalating progression of the chorus, a la the 1950's. Oh, and a dominant 7th is a blues/jazz chord. Noose of Jah, Lizard State, Broke, and some others contain hiphop rhythms and cadence. Rock Bottom is absolutely astonishing considering his age and the chord composition, he uses jazz progressions but delays resolution for an awkward number of measures.
@Jake504 Overall, you don't really know what you're talking about. I'm not claiming that his talent at guitar is some extraordinary accomplishment, but his understanding of melody and chord structure is very advanced.
@ImPrblyRight hehe no it isn't. it isn't anywhere close to being very advanced. I like this song but there isn't any advanced melody or chord structure.
@omgnuub Tab me out a version of this song, bud. I'd also like the correct chord names, the key, and the mode within which the chords and melody function. This is actually one of his simpler songs. If that's too easy, try the chords for Rock Bottom, they're really simple. Oh, and if you're really a douche, you could figure out Greyscale. Good luck.
@ShaneU89 its not kele at all. its so unfair to put him in a box anyway, but id say he was a bit joe strummer, a bit later gil scott heron and some early jamie t. definitely not fuckin kele at all
@ileeb777 A first gig in Paris Flèche d'Or (9 march) was canceled. So he introduced Surfer Blood the next day. I even didn't know he would be playing when i saw him.
