Ive heard that if you go to the bank and cash it..weeks later it could come up fake and they can hold you liable?? What should I do???

As a successful 7X seller of things on Craigslist, I always keep things local. I tell them I do not ship, do not accept checks and they have to pick it up. It let's me know that these are real people and they really want your item. Not some scammer.

Remember everything you do on the computer is PUBLIC so act as you would in public in every day normal life, you are living outside your home.
I tried buying a silver bracelet off a guy on craigslist using paypal, and he could clearly tell I spoke english, and my area code was from our state, he right away got all paranoid saying he is not going to get took for his personal information. I simply was just going to send him a payment through paypal to his email where he can then collect his money, If you are not sure of the origin of the email type in the email address into google and it will tell you if that address looks funny!!!!

@orangesoda1955 had to get his ip address, the real one not the one that shows in the email header. the website was to look real to him as if i had shipped the equipment but it was on my site. if you go into your router and look at the logs try to trace one of those addresses that show an attempted login that wasn't you and you will be bounced from server to server all over the world.
Your right, all you have to do is log into your PayPal account and see if money is in your account. You should e-mail him back and tell him that he will have to pay you more money because you raised the prise on your computer. Then you'll be happy to ship the item (LOL).

As a successful 7X seller of things on Craigslist, I always keep things local. I tell them I do not ship, do not accept checks and they have to pick it up. It let's me know that these are real people and they really want your item. Not some scammer.

I tried buying a silver bracelet off a guy on craigslist using paypal, and he could clearly tell I spoke english, and my area code was from our state, he right away got all paranoid saying he is not going to get took for his personal information. I simply was just going to send him a payment through paypal to his email where he can then collect his money, If you are not sure of the origin of the email type in the email address into google and it will tell you if that address looks funny!!!!

@orangesoda1955 had to get his ip address, the real one not the one that shows in the email header. the website was to look real to him as if i had shipped the equipment but it was on my site. if you go into your router and look at the logs try to trace one of those addresses that show an attempted login that wasn't you and you will be bounced from server to server all over the world.

HAHAHA, love it man. I had the same spill put on me. Once I even got an email stating that I need to change my password for paypal, and ofcoarse a link was provided. It was a fake paypal site used to get peoples passwords. Glad I have plenty of experience in dealing with cons/con artists! I have also had people try me on craigslist. If your gonna do business on craigslist, do it in person! And along with that note, take a few friends with ya too, preferably ones that pack! Just in case ;)

he was so mad that he threatened me b/c he said he sent the keys, etc. and then I sent him a final address with a false FBI number on it, along with an Interpol unit and I said "you're busted". I have never heard back from him since. African shit head!

-2- them having an ID to pick it up. I refused to give that (even tho I didn't really send the 2500.00) and it pissed this African off so bad that he begged and pleaded over email so he could get that money. he was so frustrated! I told him that if he was who he said he was then he should have the ID that he needs to pick it up. He tried to tell me that he had a USA ID and the bank over there wouldn't take it. I said "sounds like you got some bad luck". I finally sent him a msg I got the $ back

I have answered a few ads on CL for rental houses and I have been sent more bullshit then I have ever seen in my life. I got sick of the shit and messed back with one dude. He asked me to go to Western Union and send him the deposit and 1st months rent then he would send the keys via Federal Express. So, I got a western union receipt slip at wal mart and falsely filled it out. I scanned it to my computer and sent it to him. he wanted me to"create a password" so they could pick the $ up w/out
