he is an very smooth bass and great with the low notes but to be honest I have heard lower much lower in fact I.E the late GREAT JD Sumner, and even George Younce of the Cathedrals used to go lower. but with that said Aaron is/was the second best bass ever (in the past 2 decades or so) the best being Tim Riley!
but now Aaron is no longer in SGM so Tim is back with Gold City!!!!!!! and he's still got it!
P.s another thumbs up to Aaron for being so darn low!...........
I sing bass in a chior at church and at my lowest (right now) I can only get about half as low as most of the notes he can hit! lol but then again I haven't practiced that much and then theres the fact that I'm only 15! lol
How old was George and J.D. when they matured as bass singers? around 40 years old. If this guy had not quit and had the determination he would be the rule that people will measure bass singers had he reached his potential. Go back and listen to J.D. when he was with the Sunshine boys and by his own admission he could only hit low C, by the time he was late thirties or forty he is twice as low. I'm glad Tim is back also, but how long can he hold up? Then what?
@MrKyledude18 where did George go lower than Aaron? as far as I know, E1 is the lowest recorded note for both of them. George hit it in some song about love making the world go round, and Aaron in "That Old Altar."
Not bad. I guess I'm old school, but I wish they could find their lead singer some clothes. He's on stage in front of people. I just don't care for the on stage casualness (hope that's a word). Have some respect for your audience. They pay a price for a ticket and drive from their homes. You should look like you care that they did that. This guy looks like he just crawled out from one of the bus bays.
Something i've noticed is that he's much more comfortable and clear in the low notes than most bass singers...he kinda just falls into the note with no struggle whatsoever and it's always right dead on the note...
i think on the first verse on the lyrics, or maybe its just me, but i think he redid the words a little, but who cares! he is still the best! and we still love him!! :))
No, Mandy, he says "Turn THAT back"...haha! It's hard to hear because of the video/audio quality, but it's there. Sitting where I was, I could read his lips.
coming from a gold city fan, these guys right now are at the top of their game. aaron mccune gets better everytime he picks up the mic. tim duncan would not last long with these guys. daniel would not let him wear green cowboy boots and a orange sport coat to sing in (ha ha)!
stop hatin! they are the best southern gospel group well when steve aaron and josh were still there :(

I understand your position, however, no one paid a price for this venue...it was a free concert.
