You didn't need that back then. All you needed was one box which worked all the time giving you all the prescription channels and the only problem stations was HBO where you had audio on one channel, and the video on another. The Spice channel was fantastic, and so was the Playboy channels. Spice was the hottest though, and watching sports was great on the C band dishes back then.

They wouldn't have known in 1985 that the film would considered illegal later (revelations of her age happened in 1986.) Yes - I remember this channel quite well. I believe they would broadcast somewhere out of the Caribbean - Aruba, I believe. I was in junior high at the time when I dicovered this channel on our family's old c-band dish. I remember having to rotate the dish to another satellite every afternoon before my parents would get home - lol!

Oh yeah great memories here, we got our 6' dish in May 1985, and I would move it over to receive a different satellite, I think it was "Westar 5" or something to watch "American Extasy", only softcore but still good, then they would change to "American Exxxtasy" and scramble, you needed a descrambler called the "VideoCipherII" it cost $399, but it worked for all the other premium channels they were scrambling at the time like HBO, Showtime, Cinemax and Movie Channel etc. We never bought it.

Brings back great memories for me of putting the dish up on American Extasy on nights when my parents were out (which were frequent at certain times of the year). Unscrambled adult movie footage as early as 6pm (not quite hardcore, but still plenty exciting enough for a 15 year old!). Always thought their spokeswoman was cute.

The music they play at the end of the ad, incidentally, is the same music they played on their Station ID "bumper" between shows.
