Any Bible is the same, only they are translations. The Bible translated or not remains the word of God. Anyone has access to every translated Bible just as they have access to all the English translations of the Quran and hadiths. So "350 or 400 AD copies" are NOT the SOLE & only BASIS for the 24,633 manuscripts existing as today. (& not one can prove ur case of text change of Matt 28:19).
The controversy of (Matt 28:19) is not at all a CASE of Manuscript variation, but that of primary speculation due to LACK OF REVELATION of Jesus' words which He always uttered in PARABLE form. But the Holy Spirit revealed to the disciples that Jesus commanded them to BAPTIZE in “a NAME” (not in NAMES), i.e., a SINGULAR name & NOT in PLURAL names...

The Bible remains the Word of God because it contains not only the History of the Jews but the promises God made to the Jews concerning them and our world. God said throughout many prophets that the Jews would be returned to Israel, which they were in 1948. God endorses the Bible without needing Islamic approval. Muhammad was never a prophet of the God of Abraham, Isaac, Moses because God is not senile nor forgetful. God told Abraham God chose not Ishmael but Isaac to carry as Everlasting the covenant thus prophetic line (Gen.17-19).

Since Muslims edit these films to their advantage and as Muslims lie to protect Islam
and since Most Muslims never hear what Christians say as it is against their religion to do so.
It is Muslims who lose in the end, for they defend Islam,an oppressive man made religion that would kill them should they become deemed as hypocrites.
In the end, it is Muslims who lose because Islam itself is not from God

When ever you see a Muslim speaking about the Bible, you can be sure he will be against it because the Quran contradicts the Bible and the Quran is war against Jews, Christians as well as all non Muslims.
Demons praise the Quran, sura 72:1 and that itself reveals Islam is from Satan.
The Bible remains the Word of God without needing the approval of the Muslims because God honors to this day, his own promises he made in the Bible which includes God will rid the world of Satan which is Islam

" <---- that is a small part of Ezekiel 23 that Swaggart read . . . but he read it from the King James Version in the old, archaic English so the crown would not understand. The pamphlet he was handed by Deedat to read was from the NIV Bible.

I am an atheist. I have seen the entire debate a few times. I always reach the conclusion that Deedat mopped the floor with Swaggart's ass! Swaggart's cowardice and sneakiness was shown when he finally was cornered to read Ezekiel 23. But the coward read it from the "King James Version" so the crowd would not understand the raunchiness of the pornographic passage in modern English ( as in the NIV bible).
As to Islam and the Quran, I naturally object. ... But yeah, Deedat kicked his ass!

Mr. Swaggart is just an excellent orator. He is a poor debater, unlike Mr. Deedat. When cornered, Mr.Swaggart resorted Argumentum Ad Populum, Begging-the-Question, Ignoratio Elenchi, and Non Sequitur. Anybody who knows about a good technical debate, would also know that Mr. Deedat won by a mile.

In 1988 he was caught with a prostitute. He confessed that he had sinned.
3 years later, in 1991, he had clearly 'learned' his lesson and he was caught with another prostitute.
So the man who is supposedly to have been inhabitated by the holy spirit itself did all of these things. How can he have possibly have one this debate?

@bychoicemuslim: this extract is EXACTLy the same in the The Dead Sea Scrolls, which was written before Jesus (PBUH) and there are other sentences I have found similar in both books. The Dead Sea Scrolls sold in Barnes and Nobles. Maybe the Christian translators of this which was fo found in 1947 (i think) may have doen this in order to create confusion in researching Muslims such as I.

I used to be big Jimmy Swaggart fan , but as a Trinity preacher .... Assemblies of God pentecostal .... they like most denominations believe in 3 Gods or 3 separate entities .... God , Son , Holy ghost .... one big lie .... Bro. @khanchango Let me just say that this is a good debate... Jimmy Swaggart like many Protestant preachers relied too much on charisma and "miracle stories" rather than countering with logical proof.. However today, the Islam-critics are better informed of Islam and Ahmed Deedat had passed on, Muslims have to pull their socks up because the challenges Christians posed to us have certainly increased.. But for this event I have to say, Deedat carried the day without a doubt...

Yuval wrote that A LEADING RABBINICAL SCHOLAR OF THE TIME was considered to have authored a sophisticated parody of the Gospel according to Matthew.

Actually, the documents detailing how the Sanhedrin was run were put down on paper LONG AFTER THE GOSPELS. The Mishnah was put into written form at least a century or century and a half later! Don't you think something might have become 'idealized' by then AND THE ORIGINAL TEXTS “ALTERED”?

Yes, if this kind of "theory & speculation" as is being used by "TheHeroOfChris" is used for the rest of the Bible TEXT, then over 100 Bible verses will be put into doubt & termed as CONTRADICTIONS, just as such "speculative" scholars such as "Shabir Ali" have already compiled "101 contradictions" in Bible, & to prove just one of them wrong, one has to write at least ONE FULL PAGE length of explanation, which is not possible here to do with limitations of words.

Besides the over 24,000 manuscripts there r also over 15,000 existing copies of the various versions written in the Latin and Syriac (Christian Aramaic), some of which were written as early as 150 A.D., such as the Syriac Peshitta (150-250 A.D.) Ref:-(McDowell 1972:49; 1990:47).
Because Christianity was a missionary faith from its very inception (Matthew 28:19-20), the scriptures were immediately translated into the known languages of that period.

Bcoz to corrupt or forge manuscripts, for they (even disciples & more less the later church fathers) would have had to "amassed all of the translations" from the OUTLYING AREAS (that were far apart) and would have to CHANGED EACH COPY, so that all copies in the whole world would be EXACTLY SAME as today. So "350 or 400 AD copies" are NOT the SOLE & only BASIS for the 24,633 manuscripts existing as today. (& not one can prove ur case of text change of Matt 28:19).

But the Holy Spirit revealed to the disciples that Jesus commanded them to BAPTIZE in “a NAME” (not in NAMES), i.e., a SINGULAR name & NOT in PLURAL names...
