I thought Easter was about the cross. There is actually no mention of "December 25th" being Jesus' birthday in the bible. December 25th was actually a Roman celebration of their god Mithras, before the Christians hijacked it. But . . .believe what you want ;)
You are correct, December 25th is not the day Jesus was born. More than likely He was born in late February / early March. However, December 25th is the day the whole Christian world celebrates his birthday. The specific day isn't important (we don't necessarily celebrate birthdays in my family on the specific day - we wait for a weekend) - what is important is that we celebrate the birth of Jesus, our Lord and our Saviour
@hmearing who is that important to? Does God tell us to celebrate his birthday?! Are we sinning by not celebrating his birthday? It is only important to you and this society. It is only a tradition of men and it does not please God.
@rationalsalvation Why do people who find out that Jesus wasn't actually born on the 25th feel that is important? Who cares what the Romans did years ago? What in the world does that matter to the Creator of the universe? God made all the days. If at some point in the past some ignorant people or even demonized people used the 25th to celebrate something, what does that matter to me giving God glory for sending His Son? Jesus came to die for us. That's why Christmas is about the cross.
@Ginasong So, because the pagans and Romans celebrated the 25th before your Johnny Come Lately imaginary friend came along, that means that they are ignorant and demonic? Do you realize that this attitude is what pisses people off about the religious?
@rationalsalvation Don't put words in my mouth so you'll have some kind of point to make. I said "If" ignorant or even demonized people used the 25th to celebrate something, what in the world did that have to do with me celebrating Jesus on that day? And I'll tell you the real reason a lot of people are angry at people who worship God: It's because you either serve God or Satan and if you don't serve God, you have anger against those who do. It's as simple as that.
@Ginasong Actually, we're angry because we are fed up with you bigotry all around nastiness. In the real world, there have been religions LONG before Christianity, Jesus AND your God are just the most recent delusions. What arrogance to think that I need saving, but then again, your religion is defined by it's arrogance masquerading as humility.
@rationalsalvation The tone of your post shows where the real nastiness lies. That's the way it usually is with most non-Christians who are posting about Christian videos. As for how long a religion has been around, the Bible says "In the beginning God," so that's as far back as you can go. This "delusion" that you speak about makes people all over the world angry who refuse to accept Jesus because Jesus was God in the flesh who humbled Himself in order to bring salvation.
@Ginasong "In the beginning God", actually that's as far back as a Christian can go, Hinduism is much older than Christianity. Don't act like Christians aren't attacking every atheist video posted on youtube.
@rationalsalvation As for referring to Jesus as a "Johnny come lately," the Word of God puts it a little different....The book of Isaiah declares that God would send Jesus when the "fullness of time" was come. The Son of God is not someone to be trivialized. Although He would be the first to forgive you if you asked Him to. I'm not worried about making you angry or trying to appease the anger of those who don't love Jesus. I just would like to see you give Him a chance. He can save you.
@Ginasong This is an interesting discussion, but honestly, this song / movie clip was made to glorify Jesus, for what He did for everyone - He took upon Himself the sin of the world when He willingly went to the cross. He is the only way to salvation. Now, you can believe and accept this and live, or you can disagree and die in your sins - your choice. In any case, if you don't like this video, make one of your own. This one is for Jesus, the only begotten son of God
@Ginasong actually, I was replying to both - basically I don't really want a confrontation over a video - I appreciate you defending Jesus, but I don't really think He needs it - this video was created to touch hearts and to worhip Jesus. Normally comments from people who are being convicted or are still in darkness are simply deleted. Much easier, and allows any others who come to just enjoy the video. Thanks for your concern though - :)
I agree, the ignorance of people certainly is outrageous. Anyone who is a believing Christian knows that the cross is a symbol of what Jesus did for us, taking in our place on the cross, so that through Him we can have life, that like Him we will be raised from the dead, and spend eternity with Him in heaven.
The song also references the life that we have because of what Jesus did for us by going to the cross - through Him we have life, and that's something to rejoice about
I don't understand some of the imagery - was it the video creators intention to have all the happy smiling folks at the end, clapping an laughing, appear to be looking at the agonized Christ on the cross?
Seems creepy!
While I am eternally grateful for Jesus sacrifice on the cross, beyond words, I don't have to be giddy and giggly about the way it had to be accomplished.
Go Fish is my favorite group! This is an amazing song! The story of Christmas does not end at the manger! Thanks for sharing! I was truely blessed! Thank you Jesus!
Discovered Go Fish and this song for the first time this year! It has become my "Christmas Anthem" this year! Praise to Christ for the Cross! Merry CHRISTmas everyone!
My son is 4.5 he's never had an interest or an understanding although there has been opportunities to talk about it. This video which he ended up watching with me by his choice ended up bringing up lots of expected and anticipated questions.
It's from the Jesus miniseries staring Jeremy Sisto - it's my favorite version of a Jesus movie - it makes him seem so down-to-earth, like the way I suspect Jesus really was when he walked the earth
that song is by the Newsboys. The chorus goes:When the toast is burned and all the milk has turned and Captain Crunch is waving farewell; when the big one finds you, let this song remind you that they don't serve breakfast in Hell.

@rationalsalvation actually you should really look up the history of "Easter" also. It is NOT a holiday that honors Yahweh.

@jeabsajaan I think I already made that point, but then again, I don't even remember commenting on this piece of shit video.

Even as a Christian, I have to hold a little doubt because all the disciples were fishermen.
Not exactly paragons of truth, fishermen.
