  • Those on-screen graphics unfortunately take soul out of the past here and I find sacrilegous (only should be put at end of video).

  • That is not from 1973. The MOVIE came out in '73, starring Michael Moriarty and Robert DeNiro. That was a television promo for the television play from the 1950s, which starred Paul Newman. I'm not sure who played the role that DeNiro played in the '73 movie version. And both the movie and the teleplay were based on Mark Harris' novel of the same name, which was published in the early '50s.

  • @frozenfood500 Looks like Newman played the Moriarty role and Albert Salmi as the catcher DeNiro played.

  • In my opinion, a remake might work only if Mr. DeNiro was involved somehow.

  • This naturalistic monologue makes my skin crawl.

  • What do you mean?

  • It's fake self-conscious sentimental gutter talk, the kind that never occurred on any street corner but occurs with alarming regularity on the stage. My dislike of it is on aesthetic grounds.

  • So what is "naturalistic"?

  • Dialogue that is styled in such a way as to seem unstyled.

  • alexanderamone: I got it in VHS in italian, one of the best movies ever!

  • god bless paul newman i hope god takes care of him

  • Good! yo quiero ver esta pelicula pero en España no la puedo conseguir.
