honestly i think the only way to stay away from cakiness is choosing a foundation from department store rather than from the drug store.

for the mist that you are talking about:

yes, it does reduce the cakiness and has a natural finish, but if you're oily skin, it tends to make you grease up quicker and worse.

i've used that same mac mist one and when i had to go returned it, the rep there told me that it wasn't right for my skin which is oily.

@Lettee You can use a corrector with a green base before you apply the foundation in the areas that are red. The green will balance the red and your skin tone will be more even.

Guys hate gunk. + the more foundation you wear the more you'll NEED to ware it: foundation clogs pores, which increases the incidents of breakouts. just put conceal on the pimples. @MyUsername156 you're right, hormones cause the majority of acne breakouts. But, @MyUsername156 part 1a: we can influence how our hormones interact with our bodies. Diet, Exercise, Birth Control pills are the best ways of preventing hormonally related breakouts. But, i think really foundation becomes an issue if you're wearing it daily. There are so many problems with cross contamination it's not funny. Even when we think we're careful

Part 1: The best way to get flawless skin is, put all the money you would spend on primer and foundation and powder in a bank ( which, in a year comes close to 500 to 600 or more,if your replacing the products monthly, like your supposed to).Spend that total $ on hydroquinone, and laser treatments, + sit in a sauna or exercise + eat a rainbow of different textures.

I have fucking horrifying skin. I don't have bumps but discoloration and scaring everywhere. So bad that if I dont wear enough makeup to cover it all, people stare because its so bad. I try to not make myself look cakey but its kind of unavoidable. I just think people need not judge so quickly and be a little more sensitive and not just assume that women are wearing a lot of makeup for the hell of it.

Katy has acne, and acne is not a nice thing to have! And neither is scarring! She may need to apply a little more foundation than others because of those reasons. Not everyone has a beautiful even skin tone!

@emjessab a misting spray is something that sort of finalizes your makeup and keeps it in place. It's basically a primer that you spray after you apply your makeup. Water is gonna make your foundation and eye makeup run everywhere. MAC, skindinavia, and urban decay make pretty good misting sprays.
