But then again these are mile cars
But ,the ford gt did have extremely wicked > 186mph accel, more than 2x as fast as the SSC's, that gave it an ultra high trap speed.
the low end accel especially the 0-60mph is the most impt in a drag coz if you shave 1s off your 0-60, you shave 1s for 0-100, 0-150, it carries forward all the way to the end. No point having ultra fast high end if you waste the low end accel on a poor start.
i have a vid of the SSC's record run accel, and i calculated the mile from there using calculus.

then again the 1183hp ssc aero does mile in under 23s, @ over 230mph. The 1287hp aero 2010 might do mile in over 240mph +, in just 21s.
the aero is the best of the best, including henesseys tuners. the ford gt might have done 250mph in a mile, but it took 23.2s nonetheless, slower than the 2007 aero.

exactly. if you watch the 253mph ford gt mile vid, you'll find the driver's low end accel was horrible( for 1600 hp),0-60mph bout 4s, 0-100mph 6.7s, 0-125mph 8s and 0-150mph in 11.5s. thats slower than a veyron. as you know, the ssc is alot faster than the veyron past 100mph.

It's a Venom, not a Viper. Venom is Henessey's own production car and is faster than a Bugatti. Also, it doesn't cost $200,000, it costs Just under $1MM.

@bepcar001 It's not the fastest street legal car, there are cars that are way faster that cost hundreds of thousands less. The Viper Venom Twin turbo can get up to almost 3000hp. The Bugatti is the fastest production (stock from the factory) car in the world.
The Viper Venom has a top speed of 255mph, and the Veyron has a top speed of 253.52 mph. Venom will reach 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and 200 mph in 20.3 seconds. The Veyron will reach 60mph in 2.46 seconds, however the 0-200mph test is at 24.2 seconds. Which means the Viper Venom wins in 0-200, but not in 0-60.
I think the Veyron is ugly though. I prefer the slower Corvette ZR1, or Viper SRT 10 for looks. After all it's not legal in the U.S. to even get that fast off the track anyway.

@x82643 Have you driven a Viper? Reason why I ask is because my uncle works for dodge and has driven a Viper SRT-10 and got it over 100 and said the handling was very good. But they said it's a GT car and no stripped out sports car... This thing will take you across Europe or Coast to Coast in the USA! The Viper Venom wont! They get problems with the transmission on the Viper Venom....It was never designed for that type of power... Unlike the Veyron!

Some of you are sort of retarded on here.... The Venom Viper is indeed a very fast car.... But good at nothing more than going in a straight line! The driver was even correcting it at over 120mph.......None of us on here would be able to do anything with that car, bar maybe kill our self's......and that would be in the dry... don't even think of the wet!! I don't believe it is going to be as reliable as the Veyron for one! They are two very different cars!

Lol at all of the people thinking this is fake. the bugatti may have the fastest top speed of any other street legal car, but it takes time for those quad turbochargers to do anything. the viper is raw power, putting down every one of its 600+ horses every time it shifts. But ,the ford gt did have extremely wicked > 186mph accel, more than 2x as fast as the SSC's, that gave it an ultra high trap speed.
the low end accel especially the 0-60mph is the most impt in a drag coz if you shave 1s off your 0-60, you shave 1s for 0-100, 0-150, it carries forward all the way to the end. No point having ultra fast high end if you waste the low end accel on a poor start.
i have a vid of the SSC's record run accel, and i calculated the mile from there using calculus.

@ASSHOLELA Oh, I thought you had a video of it actually running the mile. Even though I'd like to see that acceleration video if possible, and how you calculated it's distance and time accurately. Even with the SSC running a 0-150 time of 9.3sec. I believe it would be overtaken before the finish by a car accelerating that much harder near the 1/2 mile. The SSC is faster than the Veyron, but not faster than a GT with power like that. It's hard for me to believe lol.

then again the 1183hp ssc aero does mile in under 23s, @ over 230mph. The 1287hp aero 2010 might do mile in over 240mph +, in just 21s.
the aero is the best of the best, including henesseys tuners. the ford gt might have done 250mph in a mile, but it took 23.2s nonetheless, slower than the 2007 aero.

exactly. if you watch the 253mph ford gt mile vid, you'll find the driver's low end accel was horrible( for 1600 hp),0-60mph bout 4s, 0-100mph 6.7s, 0-125mph 8s and 0-150mph in 11.5s. thats slower than a veyron. as you know, the ssc is alot faster than the veyron past 100mph.

He also ran a 0-200 time in mid 15s, the Veyron runs 0-150 13.3, 0-200 in 24.2, now the SSC was getting wheel spin in 5th and 6th gear, so how would it out accelerate that GT? Seems after 100 mph that GT would with the SSC, and after it's pure HP.

The Henessey Ford GT package is even faster than the Viper, and the GT-R package can put the Veyron out on the curb with a wide-mouthed driver wondering what the hell just happened. Then there's the Venom GT....1,200 HP in a car that weighs half as much as the Veyron? and at $900,000 the Venom GT and Ultimate Aero are bargains compared to the SS. Both are also faster - straight line and corner speeds.

The Viper Venom has a top speed of 255mph, and the Veyron has a top speed of 253.52 mph. Venom will reach 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and 200 mph in 20.3 seconds. The Veyron will reach 60mph in 2.46 seconds, however the 0-200mph test is at 24.2 seconds. Which means the Viper Venom wins in 0-200, but not in 0-60.
I think the Veyron is ugly though. I prefer the slower Corvette ZR1, or Viper SRT 10 for looks. After all it's not legal in the U.S. to even get that fast off the track anyway.

@x82643 Have you driven a Viper? Reason why I ask is because my uncle works for dodge and has driven a Viper SRT-10 and got it over 100 and said the handling was very good. Keep in mind he isn't a trained racer, just a dealership manager, and he retained control no problem. Personally I vote german engineering...GO AUDI R8 QUATTRO!!!
